Very sweet, foliage filled cafe. Lovely customer service and a neat array of seasonal iced drinks. I'm all about coffee; dark roasted, fragrant beans, brewed to perfection. I found that the espresso (I got an americano) is too lightly roasted for my taste, in a 12oz americano with 2shots (which is consistent) the drink tasted very watered down, though I knew by first glance I wasn't going to enjoy the drink- it seemed that I could see through the first inch of my drink (knowing it just wasn't dark enough). The almond croissant was good, but not as flaky and soft. And the Dirty Ubelatte was tasty
I give 4 stars because they have a sign that states they need help growing on google. They have great potential, but as a coffee shop, they need to focus on the coffee beans providing a well rounded bean that offers the drinks ppl instinctively go to buy. So many coffee shops along Main, it's hard to be different... source the same beans as a neighbouring cafe does then continue the season flare, lovely staff and foliage to pull...
Read moreI stopped in here while I was waiting for a friend who had a medical appointment nearby. I was really just looking for somewhere to kill the time, and perhaps grab a bite at the same time. I ordered a dark roast coffee and a Fresh veggie breakfast sandwich. The coffee was good with a slight but not overbearing fruity taste. The breakfast sandwich was served with a splendid mild salsa which is prepared in house. Excellent sandwich! I've ordered similar dishes at other more pretentious cafés but here was so much better and not at a ludicrous price! At just over $10 I was more than satisfied with this meal. Keep up the great work. The ambiance is open and inviting. Board games are on the shelf so I'm assuming guests would be allowed to play? The staff were friendly and professional, well mannered and I felt not only welcomed but appreciated. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area who likes good coffee and...
Read moreI'm not sure what to think of it. Coffee was ok but I took a large cappuccino and it almost tasted like warm milk - it didn't seem to have two shots of coffee, which should be the case for that size otherwise you can't taste the espresso. So it felt quite disappointing even if the taste wasn't that bad. I took a couple of croissants, one with chocolate, one with almonds. They were alright, tasted good even though I wouldn't say these were among the best I had - they also felt a bit too heavy (food wise), especially the chocolate one which had a fair amount of chocolate filling. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad address at all and I might try out other things but this didn't live up to my expectations based on current reviews, but also based on my experiences at other coffee shops in Vancouver. The atmosphere of the place is Gower fantastic and feels like a nice and warm cosy place to chill while you are having...
