Great food, very helpful and quick service, awesome dim sum vibe Came here to get to go food and the cashier/server lady immediately helped us out and just told us to get stuff from the dim sum carts. The food here is really good, I liked the bamboo leaf wrapped rice roll thing, dou hua, some meat and vinegar thing-honestly all the food is good and worth trying Although I do have to say the xiao long bao isn’t the best..but we did eat it when it wasn’t hot anymore (cuz take out) and the vinegar in there is just eh, I like the black vinegar better, and the chao su pork bao is a little too bready then I liked, (like the bread ratio was too much bread and the bread itself was too doughy/floury/not pillowy/airy) The sago pudding thing was pretty good too Would have liked to come eat in person next time, and I definitely come back again. Again, service was very nice-even gave us spicy sauce to go (though not that spicy), and quick. Wait time if we were to dine in was about 20m, we came at around 1

One of the worst Chinese restaurants I have tried in Vancouver, this will be my first and last time going here. The chicken feet was straight up sad, they had the worst Chinese donut in rice wrap that I have had in my life. The rice roll was super thick and I couldn’t even stomach a whole bite of it with how soggy the donut was inside. Overall, I did not fully enjoy a singular item that we ordered. The service was not bad and the atmosphere was nice, lots of space and not too loud even though it was busy. The ladies going around with carts is definitely a gimmick. I remember when lots of restaurants use to have that and now there rarely are any which I think is for the best because the items in those carts turn out to be pretty stale by the time that we get it and it made sense that every item we got was pretty terrible.

Golden Swan is one of the few dim sum restaurants in Vancouver that still do push carts. But you can also mark down the items you want on an order sheet if you're afraid you'll miss your fav dish. This place is fairly large but also busy (visited in a Sunday at 10am). We ordered the Siu Mai ($9.85), Honeycomb Beef Tripe ($10.85), Pork and Fungus Bean Curd Wraps ($9.85), tender Chicken Feet ($9.85), Deep Fried Fresh Squid ($11.10), Eggplant with Shrimp Paste ($10.85), and Duck with Preserved Cabbage Vermicelli ($28). Portion sizes were pretty big but prices are also a bit higher. The tripe was fairly good but some pieces were colder. Liked the tender chicken feet but thought the squid wasn't the best.

Over the past month, ordered takeout rather than dine-in (dimsum) for GS. Positive: their website has PDF menu. Negative (hence 3 stars down): Biggest problem is takeout (again I can only comment for dimsum). It is not worth the money they charge because they give you way less than in-person dining. Would you not want to grow your takeout for the safety of others and save you even more money? To make it worse, only dine-in will get 20% discount (before 11am) or 10% after 11am. There is no incentives for takeout and you're paying more than before because you're getting less. If you're not going to give incentives on takeout, fine BUT at least give me the correct portion rather than giving me less! The problem lies within their types of takeout boxes. Obviously they can't use foam boxes. So they use these boxes that give you less. Biggest example is the donut roll where they just completely rip you off for takeout vs dine in. If they use circle aluminum takeout boxes with paper lid it would solve all of their problems (like what Kent's kitchen does). Also, does not use online ordering on website (like food ticket). So you have a PDF online menu but not go all the way for online ordering is mind baffling. Even if they have online ordering, they need to really brainstorm on how they can provide incentives for takeout orders versus their incentives for their dine-in (this is why you alway see cars full during dimsum hours). Overall, in the meantime, just go to Western Lake for dimsum (though, Western does not offer certain stuff that GS does, but it will suffice for dimsum cravings). They don't have discount but at least they offer you free food items instead. They also have online ordering so it makes your life (and...

One of the few places that still serve the carts during dim sum. If you're looking for a place in the Vancouver area for good food, and a traditional way of having food served to you (the carts!!) then this has to be one of the restaurants in the city to try. Golden Swan has been around for a very long time.

One of the staples in the city. And they serve good food. Not all of their employees speak English well, but they try and are polite. Their service can be quick but it depends on the day.

The parking lot at Golden Swan is small, so there isn't a lot of spaces. But there is street parking, or neighborhood parking (have to walk a little bit). The food here is quality dim sum. One of the older dim sum restaurants in the city that has been around for a while. The staff is generally friendly, serving with a smile, and they are usually quite attentative and quick in responding to your culinary and dim sum needs.

Weekends are absolutely a zoo here, so be sure to make a reservation, but be prepared to wait a little for your table because it is so busy. It's a great place to meet for dim sum with family or friends. Atmosphere is great. Food is excellent. And service is decent. What more can you ask for. Absolutely recommended....

Haven't had push cart dim sum in a very long time and was not disappointed! Wanted basic dim sum restaurant and that's what we got. None of this pretentious truffle dim sum business.

Food was great, exactly what I was looking for. It was my first time here so not much to compare to. Most of the items were large and XL or special which means on average it would cost $8 a dish. Just over $100 including tax and tip for 5 of us.

Loved their egg yolk buns as the dessert, so runny and good. The baked tapioca was so so. Loved the braised tendons, very flavorful as was the chicken feet. The glutinous rice in the lotus leaf wrap was smaller than expected but still tasty. Oh and the seafood salad egg roll was also memorable, in a good way ☺️

The hostess scans your vaccine card when you enter and checks ID. The place was pretty busy with the tables pretty close together and no dividers. We made a reservation and didn't have to wait when we arrived, which was great!

There was a little robot that went around with tea pots but not entirely sure of it's purpose as our tea pots were filled and taken away by the servers. Service was great as well, very quick and efficient with amazing memory of what we would...
