Kirala Sushi — Restaurant in Vancouver

Avoid. Poor quality at any price. Worse service. Went here after the lunch rush and ordered 2 bento boxes with a friend. Took nearly 40 minutes to get them. Expected some decent sashimi considering the price and here's where it falls even more apart. If you really appreciate sushi and sashimi, you understand that it should be cut uniformly, presented properly, etc... First, I was shorted a piece of sashimi. Second, they were all radically different cuts, and tiny, like we got the leftover scraps. The roll that came with it was undersized with too much rice relative to the protein - as in very little in it. Plus not a single roll was cut to the same size as the others. If this was at a food court, I wouldn't expect any better, but from an actual sushi place? I've had better food court sushi. Sorry Wild Sushi. I hope you read this...

I tried the lunch special, for which I chose the BC Roll and Avocado Roll. Additionally, I also got me a House Roll. The Miso soup that came with the lunch special was nice, the amount of avocado inside the Avocado Roll pieces was good, and the BC Roll tasted good as well. I loved the House Roll, I really liked how stuffed and large the pieces were, and how fresh they tasted. The attention and service was good, the server that served me the Miso soup was friendly, which was a nice touch that contributed to the good experience overall:). I also liked how they have an available washroom. And honestly, the price for the lunch special is good and convenient considering that you're getting two rolls (or two menu items of the lunch special section) and a Miso soup for only...

We order from here regularly. We love the food. Occasionally I go there for lunch.

Unlike the other reviews here I find the head waitress to be quite moody. One day she was so grumpy she thumped my miso soup onto the table spilling and walked away with no eye contact.

The only possible thing I could think of was that I sat at 4 person table by myself. But it was 2pm and there were only 2 other people there. Who knows.

I just hope they read this and try to be more friendly even when one of the staff is having a bad day.

Otherwise I totally support this restaurant and hope it will thrive with the new developments...
