Perchance — Restaurant in Vancouver

Perchance Coffee and Tea is the cafe that I had always wish I had when I was a student in university. It is such a calm cafe and the interior is divided into different sections so each area looks different and has a different vibe.

Like their namesake, the cafe hopes to create opportunities for people to meet, even if by accident.

The cafe has a wide range of tea and coffee beverages with the focus being on tea. They source their tea straight from China, and they serve extremely high quality tea leaves.

I stopped by on a weekend with some friends to try out some of their drinks as well as their small but well executed food menu.

I tried their Matcha Latte with fresh strawberry puree and the drink is beautifully presented with the distinct layers of strawberry, milk and matcha. The matcha flavour is very strong and the sweet strawberry compliments the bitterness of the matcha.

I tried the Avocado Butter Croissant with Smoked Salmon, and the croissant was flaky and buttery and was covered with a generous amount of avocado and smoked salmon. The egg was perfectly poached and was the perfect finish for this sandwich.

I also tried their grilled cheese sandwich with an egg. The grilled cheese sandwich is lightly grilled making the cheese super melty and gooey. I loved the addition of the egg – adding to the overall richness of the sandwich.

Overall I really enjoyed my experience at this cafe. The employees are passionate about their jobs and very friendly. All the food and drinks are executed with care and precision.

Great cafe, we visited several times during our visit. This place newly opened and Evan (owner) and Hank (manager) have thoughtfully brought forth a warm and inviting space where you'll want to hang out and enjoy a drink. We were able to try almost everything on the menu, and all the food and beverages are delicious. Details on what we ordered below. I'm sad this place isn't in SF, as I would go all the time. Vancouver, you're lucky to have it!

The beverages are all made with high-quality, fresh and organic ingredients. All the fruit teas are made with homemade fruit purees or syrups. The coffee and tea program is excellent. The only hard part is deciding what to order because everything is so good!

The food was all fresh, and a perfect lunch or dinner or snack. Depending on your mood, there are more filling options like avocado toast or grilled cheese, or you can get something lighter like a pastry or...

i stumbled upon this unique neighbourhood cafe and i was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and superb customer service. the ambience was nice too with unique decoration. it's a good place to enjoy a weekend afternoon.

matcha strawberry latte - i loved this layered drink. the bottom layer is a house-made strawberry puree. the puree is not too sweet and not too sour. it goes well with the matcha and fresh milk.

breakfast sandwich - this delicious sandwich contains cheese, greens, egg, pesto, and fresh tomato. it is toasted perfectly. it's the first time i had pesto on a sandwich but i am impressed on how well it goes with the other ingredients.

liege waffle - i ordered the liege waffle with chocolate topping. the chocolate topping is house-made. the waffle has a light buttery taste. it's a nice dessert
