This place lived up to the hype and is the type of business that I love to support. You can tell that the owner genuinely cares about the food he is making and tries his best to make a high quality product.

I am definitely not a vegetarian/vegan so the fact that I really enjoyed the food and would definitely go back is a fairly big deal.

I had the sabich wrap - first the pita itself is probably the best I’ve had (fluffy but also held together nicely without ripping during the whole experience); secondly the ingredients used were really fresh and hot. The owner gave us bonus falafel samples while we waited (I think we were the first customers of the day so it might have taken a bit longer than usual but we weren’t in a hurry so it was no problem) — as someone who isn’t a fan of falafels, he might have made one that changed my mind about them. The falafel was the tastiest I’ve ever had and I honestly would order a wrap with it next time.

I feel like I’m shocking myself by raving so much about a vegan food truck but I would definitely...

I caught this food truck at one of the Vegan Night Markets this summer and wow was it good! I got the Sabich Plate which included fried cauliflower, fried eggplant, and vegetables over hummus and tahini sauce, plus a pita. Lots of good flavours and I loved the thick pita! UPDATE: They’re parked at 8th and Cambie by Whole Foods most days, sometimes 11-3, sometimes into early evening. I visited them here and tried the fried oyster mushroom sandwich, which is like a fried chicken sandwich. The meaty texture of the mushrooms was really impressive! I also really liked the slaw and the soft, slightly sweet challah. If you want a healthier meal, I wouldn’t really recommend this sandwich (any of the other meals are better choices), but if you are craving a vegan take on fried chicken, then it’s an...

Driving home from work, I saw the Planted food truck conveniently parked outside of Whole Foods. I immediately turned around and headed there to pick up dinner. Who wants to cook on a Sunday cool evening? As always, the sabich was pure perfection. The pita was soft and delicious, the cauliflower so tasty and the humus, pickles, onions and other fillings just so incredibly delicious. I love that the offerings are vegan and kosher. Every time I have Chef Alex’s food, I am thoroughly impressed with the flavours he imparts on my fave veggies. I also thought the value for the quality and quantity of food was really good. The staff was so friendly and welcoming as well. I also was so impressed with the extreme cleanliness of the food truck. Will...
