Beware if you have any ALLERGIES! They have a history of making people sick and don’t care. Super rude older lady server today. I have an allergy to avocado. I voiced it and she kind of cut me off that the two rolls I ordered didn’t have it. I said yes but I’m telling you because we are ordering more rolls and can’t have it. She kind of brushed me off and my husband ordered a specialty roll then immediately says no avocado. So between the two of us we asked 3 times. She was so quick to cut off Rudley and rushed. Here’s the thing one of the rolls comes with avocado. Not the end of the world as I’m not deathly allergic BUT I served people who are indeed deathly allergic. So in saying that She needs to take ALLERGIES serious. She cuts me off when I’m talking about it. Then try’s to blame it that it was because my husband and I corrected her saying no 3x we asked politely and he even voiced up. She Choose to cut me off again. 😒🫠🤦🏽♀️ at this point I’m frustrated and she keeps cutting me off and by that time I’m exhausted and frustrated. They lost a local sushi customers. We are regulars. I’ve served for 12+ years and I couldn’t imagine being so thoughtless and then condescending to a guest. It ruined the whole afternoon. Allergies are to be taken seriously not brushed over. How would you feel if someone died from ego and carelessness. Wasn’t about who’s right or wrong I was expressing to be more careful in the future. Don’t brush peoples allergies off that is...
Read more2nd update: sad that I had to do this but I ordered my usual and when they came out with it after 2 mins saying it would take 10, I was skeptical of the quality. It’s gone down sadly.. the chicken teriyaki is not fresh, tasteless and gelatinous. I had to toss out the rice after because it tasted like the old chicken. The California rolls tasted like dynamite rolls for some reason and had bits of shell in it. Again, not fresh.
Update: the last couple of times I tried ordering the bento boxes again and far more pleased with the quality and value. Seems they now put more care in preparing the food. There’s just a bit of inconsistency with what kind of salad they use as a side. I don’t mind as much now that if I do takeout I don’t get the miso soup. Keep up the good work!
Original post: Past times we did dine in and the food and service was good. I did takeout this time but they told me that miso soup doesn’t come with bento box B which was actually bento box A indicated on the sign said outside. It said miso soup is for dine in only but it was covered by the pamphlet holder so I had to move it to see. Surely you have containers to pour a miso soup into to go? The rice was a bit mushy. Will do dine...

Sushi Tendo on Cambie Street is an absolute disgrace to the hospitality industry. From the moment I stepped foot into this establishment, I was treated with utter disrespect and contempt.
The staff, from the rude hostess to the condescending sushi chefs, acted as if I were an inconvenience. I waited an eternity for my order, and when it finally arrived, it was cold and unappetizing. The fish tasted stale, and the rice was mushy.
When I dared to complain about the poor quality of the food, I was met with hostility. The manager, a pompous individual with no customer service skills, accused me of lying and refused to acknowledge my dissatisfaction.
The overall atmosphere at Sushi Tendo is one of arrogance and entitlement. The staff seem to believe that they are above their customers, and they have no qualms about showing it. I left this restaurant feeling humiliated and utterly disgusted.
If you are looking for a sushi experience that is both enjoyable and respectful, I strongly urge you to avoid Sushi Tendo on Cambie Street at all costs. This place is a blight on the neighborhood and deserves to...
