Their There — Restaurant in Vancouver

We arrived on the Wed Jan 10th, 11:30AM, jointed the waiting list and the receptionist( young lady with dark Shoulder-length hair）told us the waiting time should be around 20-25mins, and we should receive the confirmation message as waiting list jointed and the second message for notifying the table is ready.

I am 100% sure the phone# I told her is correct as she double checked with me, but I didn’t receive the confirmation message so we came back to check with her, then found the # put in was wrong, then she corrected that.

The waiting time is exactly around 20mins, we received the table ready message, replied “1 “to confirm and returned to the store within around 3mins( 100% sure within 5mins as we were still on the same street, just two blocks away). When we arrived, the receptionist lady told us we were late…as it’s our first time so she keep the table for us…

Really not sure what the store policy, but we never been told that we need to come back within a time when we received the table ready message, nothing mentioned at the first time when we came in and jointed the waiting list. And I don’t think coming back within 3 to 5 minutes that could be considered late…

When we ordered food, we asked for the donut, she told us that the donut can’t be order for take out, they are only for dine in…even though that is what we plan to have the donut with our food, but it’s really not making sense that donut can’t be ordered for take out…

I was trying to ask if it’s possible to order their previous special drink (that was off menu already), she refused really quick for no reason…

We had really bad experience with the receptionist lady service and feeling she was treating us differently.

Other staffs are nice and friendly to us.

Nothing to complain about the food is good.

We will consider order take out next time if it’s still the same...

Their brisket sandwich with tater tots were delicious, but the pick up experience was disappointing.

I put in an order for pick up and the system defaulted to a particular timeslot, which I assumed would not be confirmed by the restaurant, unless they can meet the set time, but I arrived at the set time and the order was not yet ready.

To add on to that, the staff person that greeted me said the order was not ready yet, so asked me to wait around their store area and or off to the side and that they would let me know when the order was ready (COVID precautions, which makes sense), well I saw an additional takeout order behind their counter a few minutes later, and no one checked to see if it was my order, not even the one who told me they would let me know when the order was ready. I had to wait in their line to talk to someone again and they confirmed it was indeed my order.

The business is not exactly in a parking friendly area and I can't be the only one picking up lunch during a set lunch time, so it is extremely disappointing that they would not adhere to their own set pick-up time. It was only another 5 minutes after their set pick up time that my food was ready, but given the pick up time was set by their system and they later confirmed it, I would think the pick up time should be met.

The food was also not as hot as I would expect something that I had to wait for, so I am not sure why it took longer than expected...? I am hoping this was a one off, but it isn't unusual for businesses to care less about customer service once they're more established and losing one or two customers from time to time just becomes a regular occurrence, which seems to be the case here given some of the other comments I see on the...

UPDATED REVIEW 2024: We came for brunch on a Sunday at around 10:30AM and there were still a couple empty tables. After we sat down and ordered, there was a line outside waiting for tables.

We ordered the classic mimosa which was nice and refreshing. Almost no alcohol content which was perfect.

We got the bacon benedict which was surprisingly not bad. The English muffin was easy to cut through and the egg was nicely cooked. There was a good amount of hollandaise sauce on it but I felt like it was lacking a bit of flavour. The hashbrowns were crazy addictive. Just the right amount of crispy and wasn't overly oily as well. The bacon was definitely not the star of this show

The chicken burger was crispy and juicy not dry at all. I loved the addition of the pickles as it gives it a bit of sourness to offset the oiliness. Very messy to eat as the bun didn't hold very well but enjoyable nonetheless

If you are in the area and all the other brunch places are full, this is not a bad option. The prices are reasonable and the portions are pretty standard

OLD REVIEW: Loved the service here. Super friendly and helpful! Ordered the smores, oreo and fruit loops mochi donut. I felt like the smores and Oreo donuts were very plain. No distinct s'mores or Oreo flavour. On top of that, Im also not a big fan of cruelers which is why I wasn't a big fan of those donuts. The fruit loops donut also didn't taste like fruit loops but I did like the texture of the donut. Next time I would order the plain mochi donut and maybe try some of their other baked goods. Can't wait to go back...
