Rain or Shine is a local ice cream shop that I always come to with my friends whenever we're in the mood for a sweet treat. I've tried multiple flavours from their menu, and I have to say that their ice cream is some of the best I've ever had.
First of all, the texture of their ice cream is amazing. It's smooth, creamy and just the right amount of thickness. You can tell that they use high-quality ingredients to make their ice cream. It's not too sweet either, which is perfect for those who don't like overly sweet desserts.
Out of all the flavours I've tried, I have to say that the chocolate and peanut butter are my favourites. The chocolate is rich and decadent, while the peanut butter is creamy and full of flavour. The London fog flavour is also a must-try, as it has a unique taste that's perfect for tea lovers. The pistachio flavour is another standout, with a delicious nutty taste that's not overpowering.
I also tried the coffee toffee flavour, which was a nice surprise. It had a strong coffee taste with bits of toffee mixed in, which gave it a nice crunch. The vanilla flavour is also a classic that's done exceptionally well at Rain or Shine. It's simple yet delicious, with a creamy vanilla taste that's not too overwhelming.
Overall, I've never been disappointed with the ice cream at Rain or Shine. The flavours are all fantastic, the texture is perfect, and the prices are reasonable. I would highly recommend this ice cream shop to anyone looking for a sweet treat in the neighbourhood. It's definitely one of the best ice cream...
Read moreIce cream is amazing and itâs a great value for your money compared to other ice cream places in Vancouver. I got the London fog and it was bursting with flavour. I took two stars away because the way they have their line and waiting area is very weird and frankly very unsafe for both passerby and customers. It seems like they care a lot about their staffâs safety which is great but not at all for their customers.
Their line starts on the other side of the sidewalk instead of next to the store which makes you more likely to block passerby trying to get by you, especially with bikes. The âwaiting areaâ is where their patio is but they put crates everywhere so you canât sit down (for social distancing I guess) yet you still have to stand there close to the other people waiting for their ice cream?! A smarter way would be placing the crates strategically around the patio so you can sit down and youâre still 2 meters apart from people. If you try standing anywhere else, youâre either too far to hear your name or youâre in the way of the line or in the way of the people trying to get by. I regret I didnât notice all these issues before lining up and ordering otherwise, I wouldâve come back when there were...
Read moreAnaphylactics beware - I came in today and ordered some ice cream. It was labelled âGingerbread (vegan)â on their board. I was about 3 licks in before running back to the counter and asking if the gingerbread flavour had nuts in it. The girl behind the counter said âYeah cashewsâ before turning back to chat with her coworker. I proceeded to have a full blown anaphylactic reaction in the store - throat closed, full body welts, and later vomiting. I know as someone with a nut allergy that I am 100% responsible for asking if something has nuts in it and that I assume a certain amount of risk when eating out. However, to have no indication about a completely nut-based ice cream, especially in a flavour that would not typically contain nuts, is completely careless in my opinion. The other reason for the 1 star review is the complete disregard that I felt from the staff, after asking about the cashews there was no follow up or sense concern. I believe staff in the food/service industry should maintain a certain level of awareness about something like nut allergies. Overall, Iâm just really disappointed with an ice cream joint that I am a loyal customer to for many years, I think they...
