🍔 A Nostalgic Gem: TV Dinner Coffee & Café! ☕
🚴♂️ Stumbled upon TV Dinner while biking to downtown from Burrard Street, and it was a delightful surprise! This newly opened café and market has a cool retro vibe, with decor that brings you back to the '80s. The bright orange and brown colors, along with the vintage TV displays, create a unique and fun ambiance that you won’t find anywhere else in Vancouver.
☕ Ordered an iced latte and a burger, and both were spot-on! The coffee was smooth and refreshing, just what we needed to refuel. The staff were super welcoming and even hinted at more menu items coming soon. They’re definitely keeping things fresh and exciting, making us eager to return and see what new treats they'll offer.
🍔 What’s also cool about TV Dinner is that it’s more than just a café—they offer a selection of grab-and-go items and pantry essentials from local brands, which adds a grocer-like feel to the place. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite or stocking up on unique local goods, this place has you covered.
⭐ Overall, TV Dinner is a great addition to Vancouver’s café scene. With its quirky decor, tasty offerings, and friendly atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to relax and take a break. I can’t wait to visit again and see what other goodies they’ll add...
Read moreGood vibe overall with friendly, attentive staff. Loved seeing Sun Ra, Batman and monster trucks on the TVs. Lots of fun food options including take home dishes from Vij's, freezer ramen, tamales, and more. There are even some "tv dinners" for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free folk. They dont have any cafe snacks, sandwiches or baked goods for gluten free folk though so if you're like me, you'll be having beverages only if you dine in.
My cortado was decent enough. A bit of grounds in the cup so obviously not big coffee nerds but they did a third wave milk drink at a reasonable standard. If you're looking for expert coffee, look elsewhere. But a good spot to have a casual hang with a friend.
The idea is great. But in reality, the room full of fridges makes for really awful ambient noise. I probably won't hang out inside again. If you aren't oversensitive to that kind of thing though, it is super cool in there so please enjoy it for me. What I like best about the place is that it is stylish without being overdone. It doesn't feel cookie cutter and feels unfinished in a way that leaves it space to grow and change.
Good luck to the owners and staff. Nothing is perfect but you've got something special with...
Read moreWe visited this quaint little café on the recommendation of the food blogger HeySam, and we're delighted we did. Nestled right on the corner of Burrard Street, the café is small but incredibly cozy—an ideal spot for a leisurely morning coffee.
The highlight for us was the sandwiches. My husband ordered the Classic Reuben along with a black coffee, while I opted for the chicken and prosciutto sandwich paired with Earl Grey tea. The sandwiches were generously portioned and conveniently cut in half, allowing us to share and enjoy both. My sandwich was delicious, packed with meat and cheese. The Classic Reuben was also good, although not quite to my taste as I'm not a fan of Montreal roast beef.
Additionally, the home-cooked chips served on the side were a delightful surprise. They were incredibly thin, crispy, and super delicious.
The only slight letdown was the Earl Grey tea. Despite using loose leaf tea (a plus), the blend was a bit too mild for my liking. Finding a perfect Earl Grey in Vancouver remains an ongoing quest for me.
Overall, this cozy café is definitely worth a visit. We'll be back to explore more of their sandwich offerings and soak in the...
