So, let me start by saying, maybe I came on the wrong night. Maybe it was a bad day for the waitress. But in any case here is my experience and why I gave only 1 star. We came here on Monday night ( today ). We were 7 people. We came in, the waitress greeted us right away. There was not a lot of people as you can see in the picture. She seated us beside the door, but we could've chose another seat, so that part is ok. The music was not that loud, so that was nice too. She gave us the menu and left. It took a while before she came back. While we were waiting I took a look around and noticed this cacti beside my seat. Now I am no cacti expert so I do not know if it's suppose to look like that, but to me it looked weird, maybe like it was full of dust or wtv. Then I noticed the sad looking plants in the entrance, but again, it's winter, not a lot of light ect, so wtv. She finally came back to ask if we wanted something to drink, we took water. Again she took a while but finally came with generic tap water. She gave us some chips and salsa. The chips were ok i guess. I thought they were gonna be salty, they were not. They were a bit bland, but eh that's how corn chip taste so. The salsa was generic salsa, it was a bit watery on the edge of the bowl. Then we waited a long while again before she came back to take our orders. I took taco pollo with soft shells. We waited a ok time for the food. I didn't like that they put the soft shell taco on top of the rice. By the time I finished the first one the 2 others were soggy and wet. The soft shell tasted burnt a bit. the inside was spicy. There was the tiniest amount of cheese on them. It was a bit ridiculous. Only one slice of avocado per tacos. And I didn't understand why I had apples in my taco? The rice was minute maid quality with tomato sauce on it and red pepper or tomatoes, I'm not sure. The waitress didn't really come to check on us while we were eating. We wanted more water, my BF had to stand up to call her because she was not paying attention. When she came to take the plates, I had to yell at her for her to notice me. I asked her about this ''kimchi'' ingredient that was listed for my food. She explained that the ''kimchi'' was like not really a ''kimchi'' looking ''kimchi'' it was like the whole thing and it was homemade in the restaurant. I asked oh so you fermented it here? she said yes! HONEY, I KNOW kimchi, I eat it everyday, I watch Korean blog each day ( I really like it, lol ) what you gave me was not kimchi. Maybe you cut some apples and tomatoes and spice them up, so you made something that was resembling kimchi. But those apples and tomatoes were not fermented, they were raw and mushy. They were cut raw then put in the hot tacos so they became mushy. There was to much apple for me. I like apples, but not in a taco and not under the name of ''fermented kimchi'' LOL. So I ended up only eating one taco, the 2 others were mushy and wet so my Bf ate them ( lol ), it was also a bit to spicy for me. Mind you, maybe that's just me, I'm just explaining my experience. And I didn't like that they told me yes it is fermented kimchi, while it was just raw apples and tomatoes inside a hot taco shell. So I give only one star. Would I come back? No. Would I recommend? Definitely not. it doesn't have to be perfect, but this was, mm, how can I say this, this was like under the carpet between the dust and a dirty sock experience. It was weird and I was unsure the whole time I was eating. But eh, we have to experience the good and the bad, so that's ok. But I would say, you want tacos? just make them. Save the fuss of...
Read moreTuesday, July 9th at around 1pm I just had the most unpleasant and disrespectful service I have ever received. I eat at carlos and pepes vaudreuil restaurant very often, and I am ussally always pleased with my food and service. Today when I walked in I was not greeted by anyone and stood at the door for over 5 minutes as two waiters walked in and out of the terrace area not acknowledging us. Finally a waiter ask the hostess to get out of her booth to go to the front. We were seated in the terrace area. We ordered fajitas and requested that the veggies be extremely well done. When our food returned they were not so the waiter said he would bring them back to put on the grill longer. When he returned they were the same I said maybe the skillet needs to be hotter he said well then they would then be black and burnt. I said nothing because we were hungry and trying to have a nice lunch on a terrace and asked for a refill of water. He brought back warm water while we are sitting outside on a hot day... There was an issue about wait times at a table close by which the child posing as manager and owner went to deal with. When he was done he walked over to my table and asked what the issue was. I explained that the food quality and over all experience was very unpleasant. He then went on about a chef showing up 45 mins late, the girl in the back cant do everything herself that hes fed up of the often lateness of the chef. That he blames the staff, he used the foul language and spoke to me very unprofessional to me about the situation and took up alot of my time for something that I dont care for. I said as a paying customer that it wasnt my issue, but when a restaurant opens for buisness it shouldn't be something that shouldnt effect a customer experience. I told him that my overall visit was irritable and about the wait to be seated in a restaurant filled with more staff than clients. I referred to the young girl hostess as munckin as a term of endearment. He told me that the munchkin was his sister and he was an owner and began to start a verbal altercation with me and told me that after my meal to no longer return to his restaurant. When I asked him who he thinks he is speaking to customers like this he repeated that he has shares and it was his business. I am sure this is a family run buisness and I can respect children getting their foot in the working world early. However I dont think hes of the age to be working with customers. His immaturity and demeanor is not reflective of anyone who should be posing a restaurant...
Read moreWe had a terrible dining experience this evening and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Here are the details of our experience:
When we placed our order, we explicitly asked our waitress if the meals were vegetarian and nut-free, and she confirmed they were.
I ordered an item from your new menu, ensuring it was vegetarian. Just as I was about to take my first bite, I noticed meat in my meal. I asked the waitress, who apologetically explained that there was chili on top of the fries, which contained meat. This was particularly concerning since she had assured me there would be no meat. Thankfully, I caught the error early, and they switched out my meal, promising it wouldn't be charged.
My husband ordered the verduras bowl (veggie rice bowl) and found chicken in it while eating. We called the waitress again, and she confirmed with the manager and kitchen that there was indeed chicken in the vegetarian bowl.
When I mentioned to her that we shouldn’t be charged for our meals due to these significant mistakes, she told us we needed to speak with the manager. However, the manager took a long time to arrive and was condescending. He dismissed our concerns and only offered to waive the charge for one of the two bowls. The waitress even claimed in front of him that she hadn’t confirmed the meals were vegetarian, which was untrue. He was rude and unprofessional throughout our discussion.
Our children ordered veggie quesadillas, which were unreasonably small for the price, and they had to wait nearly half an hour for their little bowl of ice cream at the end.
The manager’s demeanor felt mocking, and it was clear that he was not taking our complaints seriously. We shouldn’t have been charged for anything considering the level of service we received, yet it was evident that the staff did not care about our experience.
This visit has cost you a long-time customer, and I will not recommend your...
