I waited over 1 hour for my pizza. I called customer service to ask where it is. Customer service refused to give me the pizza for free because the driver tried calling me. I did not recognize the name so I did not answer. The time guarantee clearly states at your door or in the lobby in 60 mins. Nobody rang my doorbell. Nobody from PizzaPizza customer service called. I was on hold for 30 mins with customer service, waiting to speak to a supervisor and was hung up on. In the meantime PizzaPizza called me back to confirm my apartment number. I answered because I recognized the name. The driver showed up shortly after 1.5hrs later to deliver the pizza. I told him that it was free. And he refused to give it to me. I called customer service again only to be transferred from one customer service rep to another. Even though I asked for a supervisor! The customer service agent insisted that because the “driver” called me within the timeframe it is not covered under the guarantee. Then she said that my apartment number was not on the order. I entered it first along with my street address. Their website did not record it. She insisted that customer service called me, but I have no record of anyone from PizzaPizza calling me until 1h24 mins later, to confirm my apartment number. This customer service is disgraceful. The physical restaurant is 10 mins from my house. Their delivery time is one hour or it’s free. They DO NOT honour their time guarantee. I will never again order from PizzaPizza. However, I have had Pizza Pizza from other Canadian locations, and this location is definitely one of the worst. The pizza we got was completely dry like cardboard, with barely any toppings or sauce (a rip-off for the $80 spent on two pizzas). The pizza actually smelled bad and tasted weird, like the toppings had been sitting out for too long. We had placed our order for pick up through the Pizza Pizza website. We got an email saying it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. Knowing how pizza places are usually a bit slow, we got there 30 minutes later and were told the pizza was not ready yet and had to wait another 10 minutes. Then, when they called us over to the counter, they had the order completely wrong and tried to get us to take a small pizza and an xlarge pizza. After some comment exchange and me showing them the online order, they remade the second pizza, obviously causing further delay. The staff were not overly rude about the situation, but definitely not what you'd expect for service. And if you have the pizza saved (under the old price), it will tell you some of your toppings "aren't available". When you rebuild the exact same pizza, the price has gone up.
Because of this, it went from 5/5 to 1/5 stars. Staff, service and good is great! But the price hike is what's going to drive your customers away.
