I have seen reviews about Allwyns and wanted to try it. I got the jerk pork sandwich and the jerk chicken with rice and peas. The total came out to $18, and to be honest that is super pricey. The super small container or rice and peas was $9.25, and the jerk pork sandwich was around $6.
The jerk pork sandwich was fairly tasty with a lot of pork, but the paper bag it came in fell apart while I was eating it (within 2-3 minutes) and all the sauce poured onto my work pants!! Overall the sandwich was pretty good, but maybe they should take it easy on the sauce or change the paper bag it comes in to something that lasts more than 2 minutes!!!!
The jerk pork with rice and peas was delicious and had no bones. My issue with this is the price. For basically the same price, I go to a place down the street that serves a portion twice as large and also has mac salad!
Realistically I believe this place deserves 2.5 stars, but I rounded up to 3.

On this beautiful afternoon, I attended the Favored Gates Christian Ministries for a special service, a necessary teaching. Just before the program concluded, I excused myself to go to this restaurant. I decided to order food for today and the following day(s). I was greeted by a male associate who seemed patient and expressed a smile. Orders: A. Oxtail with rice and peas, coleslaw A. Jerk Pork with rice and peas, coleslaw C. Jamaican beef patties Note: He shared his wisdom by separating the coleslaw from the main food to avoid soggy since I wasn't going to eat immediately. Much appreciated
At 8:29 p.m., about 30 seconds before the closure of this restaurant, I purchased more Jamaican patties with drinks for the musicians. Again, I received wonderful service from the male associate.

Read moreThe spicy beef patty was absolutely delicious..golden, flaky pastry with just the right amount of crisp. The filling had a great balance of spice and flavor, giving it a nice kick without being overpowering. It was a good size too, making it feel more like a proper snack than just a bite. The jerk chicken with rice and peas was also impressive. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned, and the portion size was generous enough to be really satisfying. The rice and peas complemented the dish perfectly, soaking up the flavor of the jerk seasoning. The hot sauce stood out as well it had more of a chutney style taste, with both heat and a touch of sweetness, which paired nicely with the chicken. Overall, everything tasted fresh, well prepared, and packed with flavor. A great spot if you’re looking for authentic, hearty, and...
