Very disappointing considering how highly rated the restaurant was. As soon as you enter you can tell this is more of a diner than a fully fledged restaurant, so I adjusted my expectations and was looking forward to a nice Turkish dineresque experience. We ordered a lot of different foods and we came with the best spice of all, hunger. Food was bland to poorly prepared. Hummus was dry and chunky, not well incorporated. They did not serve bread with this until asked directly. Chicken Shawarma was extremely dry meat as if it had been left cut half the day (or hopefully not, a few days) but had clearly been warmed and cooled multiple times in the day. Tabouleh salad was a bit off, the balance of ingredients was off. We did order Turkish coffees and teas, but they never arrived and once dishes were dumped at our table (they didn't put dishes in front of the correct guest or even try to) we were dissuaded from reminding our waitress. The Veggie Pizza/Pide was very enjoyable. The Lamb Skewer was also well made. Unfortunately others in my group completely disliked the food and full plates were left unconsumed, even a basic item like a chicken shawarma wrap was poorly thrown together and was indicative of the care put into the food. The items they made fresh like the Pizza and Skewers were great, unfortunately the items that seemed to have been old or from frozen/fridge were really poor quality. *As an aside, but worth mentioning, the cashier was really odd and asked each member of our group how much they wanted to tip prior to allowing us to pay, even though the POS machine allowed you to input that as the customer just like most do. This would have normally been unnoticed by myself but considering how much food was left unconsumed on the table (full plates of un

So was craving down Mediterranean food and found this place recommended by the internet!. Definitely a delightful and aunthenric Turkish food experience. It’s a simple takeout/ dine in place and was pretty busy when we got there. Service was quick and decent. Portion sizes are massive though. We tried two appetizers- the surma and the Turkish cigarette rolls. They were good, the rolls were a little greasier than expected. Surma was delicious and tzatiki on point! For our mains, we had the chicken shawarma and cheese kofta, both of which were great. The highlight for me was the salad and the dressing. This dressing was something so delicious and amazing. They don’t disclose the recipe as it’s homemade and freshly made everyday. Ended up getting a large container of this sauce for $8, totally worth it. They also serve a fresh pita bread for every table and this is also extremely tasty. We also got a falafel dinner to go and that was also very good. Ordered the Kunefe for dessert and thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely come back here when I need my Turkish food fix.

We happened to come across this Turkish and Mediterranean eatery because it was near York Canlan Ice Centre, near York University. We enjoy eating at Mustafa so we thought we'd try it. We were surprised how good it was and offered more selection. Mustafa's Iskender and Pistachio rolls are still the best but only available Fridays to Sundays. The rest of the days they only offer Turkish pizzas. Sofra offers all of these items and much more from 10am to 10pm, 7 days a week! We tried their Cokertme which was good with a beef tenderloin sautéed in garlic, spices and tomato sauce on a bed of creamy lemony yogurt and fried shredded potatoes. They offer lentil soup, falafel plate, sarma, to onion rings and mashed potatoes. From kebabs and mousakka to lamb chops and rib steak. What's also nice is their selection of desserts and they offer Turkish coffee in beautiful silver holders. You'd like the Kunefe if you like ras malai. It's a great alternative to McDonalds or Tim Hortons in the plaza during hockey tournaments.

My recent visit to a particular restaurant left me thoroughly disappointed and dissatisfied, especially considering the exorbitant price I paid for what can only be described as one of the worst chicken wraps I have ever encountered.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the high prices listed on the menu. However, I decided to give it a chance, hoping that the quality of the food would justify the cost. Regrettably, this was not the case.

I ordered their chicken wrap, expecting a flavorful combination of tender chicken, fresh vegetables, and delectable sauces. To my dismay, what I received was a lackluster creation that failed to meet even the most basic standards of taste and presentation. The chicken itself was overcooked and dry, rendering it almost inedible. The accompanying vegetables seemed stale and lacked the crispness one would expect from a freshly made wrap. Additionally, the overall flavor profile was underwhelming and lacked the harmony that should accompany a well-prepared dish.

To make matters worse, the exorbitant price of the chicken wrap was completely unjustifiable when compared to other restaurants offering similar menu items. It is disheartening to pay a premium for a dish that not only fails to satisfy the taste buds but also falls significantly short in terms of value for money. The lack of quality and poor execution in this instance make it difficult for me to recommend this restaurant to others.

As a customer who appreciates good food and fair pricing, I left this establishment feeling let down and regretful of my decision to dine there. When a restaurant charges a premium, it is only fair to expect an exceptional culinary experience. Sadly, this restaurant fell far below the mark.

I urge potential diners to carefully consider their options before choosing this particular restaurant. There are numerous other establishments that offer better-quality food at more reasonable prices. While I cannot speak for the entirety of their menu, my experience with their chicken wrap raises concerns about the overall quality and value provided.

In conclusion, my visit to this restaurant left me with a distasteful impression due to the unappetizing chicken wrap I was served, coupled with the unjustifiable high prices. I hope that my review serves as a cautionary note for others, prompting them to explore alternative dining options that offer better value and a more satisfying...

Been there a few times and each time I go it’s as if the staff gets ruder and more unprofessional. The servers need to dress appropriately (skin-tight tights/leggings are NOT appropriate). ALL of their servers look unhygienic. Dress appropriately, be kind, fix your hair... don’t look like you just rolled out of bed.

The last time I visited the server was taking our order in such a rush and wasn’t answering the questions we asked about the meals, she was also talking back and yelling across the restaurant at us. My husband found a piece of bone or something disgusting in their Tipsi dish, absolutely gross. The servers looked at us with attitude when we asked for more bread for our Babaganoush. They unnecessarily charge you for anything extra you order like a side of sauce for example. The only way my family and I will come back, or recommending to others is if they change their staff, lose the attitude and lose the inappropriate attire and stop arguing with their customers. Absolutely ridiculous. If there was anything below 1 star they don’t even deserve that. They need to revamp their image and get rid of the current staff representing them. Believe me, you will not run out of business if you give an extra piece of bread or extra sauce to your customers! You will in fact lose your customers and your reputation. I will spread my experience to everyone that I know or anyone that has ever visited your restaurant. I hope this review reaches the owner - he needs to know how his customers are...
