I took my family there based on the reviews, and honestly got disappointed. The bombe are nothing out of this world. I asked for a bombe with chocolate and hazelnut, and the guy told me, ok one with nutella. Presentation looks very yummy and the pastry is tasty, but I was expecting to feel a rich pastry dough filled with cream, it was not what I expected. Lots of Nutella inside and little pastry dough. I remember in my childhood I used to go to a place where they used to sell exquisite bombe and this one for sure got short compared with that one. Another thing about this place is that they only take cash, they sent me to a TD bank located in the same plaza. This is not a rural area, it is Woodbridge, even Dollarama takes debit card. Also the owner needs to post a sign there visible "only cash" so you don't waste your time going to the bank and leave your family on the table waiting. They have a lot of "Vespa" decor (Italian motorcycle brand) which are very nice, since they do not take cash, maybe they can provide a courtesy vespa for customers who do not bring cash to travel to the bank. For sure I will...
Read moreDisappointed in these bombes. The dough was nicely chewy but really thin and lacked filling. As you can see from the photos, it's very hollow. They look great on the outside but very disappointing on the inside. We tried original crema, banana crema, caramel, strawberry jam, peanut butter chocolate, and caffe fillings. All were very very disappointing. The crema (original and banana) taste like cheap custards, like those kiddie puddings you buy that were made from powder. The strawberry jam tastes like smuckers jam, which is just really sweet and not very flavourful. The caffe filling was quite bitter and unpleasant, the caramel filling barely tastes like an actual caramel. The only decent flavour out of all these were peanut butter and chocolate, but this too just mostly tastes like peanut butter with lots of icing sugar, barely any real chocolate. By the end of trying each bombes, I was actually glad that there wasn't much filling in the bombes because of how each...
Read moreI was introduced to this fine establishment by an amazing friend and co-worker. Seems I've been missing out in my secluded east end dessert options. You can pre-order or just walk up and pick your poison. Both times I've been, and that was a long 2 weeks inbetween, I've had the Apricot filled bombette. The filling is so generous, no timmys cheap filling here. And if you get them just made and still warm, you may need a moment to recover. This time I brought some home for the family and made a stop on the way home to drop off a six for another amazing friend and their family. I think I've tried them all except for the PB and Chocolate, the bananna and the coffee one and next time I'll try and check those off my list. My only gripe is it's cash only and there is no ATM on site. But now you know so bring cash! Not worth taking a full star off so I'll stick with the 5. Maybe an espresso next time to go with it. I will be a regular customer, and you...
