Mastro Roberto Trattoria — Restaurant in Vaughan

So I usually love giving reviews because I feel a good establishment deserves a good review.. but there is the odd time where I need to share bad experiences because people deserve to know what they are spending their hard earned money on before throwing it away..that being said I can not give a good review today for mastro Roberto trattoria in Woodbridge.. So just to start our evening we walked in was very clean nice place ill give them that much.. in a little plaza we had trouble finding. The sweat just started rolling... no ac was working in there our waiter was fanning himself while waiting for our order ...make sure u wear a good deodorant if you chose to eat here ... thankfully body odor was the least of our problems... So we ordered our food.. all came out at different times ...my daughter being 5 and bi-racial (only one at our table) didnt even get her food...they forgot ? Take it how you will but as a mom watching your baby girl start to cry because she is hungry and shes the only one at the table without food.. so i told her dont worry ill share my food with you till yours comes ... once he came back and realized he forgot he said oh ? No im sorry ill bring it right out nothing he went back to the kitchen and got her spaghetti... wrong dish... he brought her my nephews pasta instead .. we didnt really notice his wasnt rose sauce because we had already put the cheese on it.. not offering to make her a new dish i let her try it she didnt like the rose sauce so we were asked to switch plates (my nephew and daughter ) so now remember hes already been eating his and added cheese and had some octopus from his mom's dish... so im surprised my daughter even agreed to switch but I guess she was just starving from waiting so long for her food. The waiter was nice... until the bill came.. when making reservations we had asked for separate bills being 7 adults and 2 children (was supposed to be 10 adults but 3 cancelled last minute... anyways when we sat down he said we dont do separate bills u can use as many cards as you wish to pay... like seriously now we have to calculate every person's food drink tax and tip ? When the bill came there was a question about one of the pastas was on the menu as 18 dollars but the bill showed 22.. thats a 4 dollar difference... not much...but enough to say hey.. thats not the price in ur menu... now by this point our waiter had left us.. and an even ruder gentleman came out.. He pointed to small print on the menu something like prices are subject to change without notice..Basically....wtf ok... So when calculating the bill he said if its so important to separate the bill then just write your stuff here... here's here hers here... like we are 5... of course we are going to separate the bill we asked for separate billing when we reserved...

Anyways... the menu ehh.. pricy .. not a big drink selection ...beer or wine.. not even sangria... Then the added 20% tip to the bill. Now dont get me wrong... good service deserves a good tip... but dont tell me how much tip I need to give my server. He will be tipped well for good service and mediocre for mediocre service .. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant...nor will we be going back there anytime...

We had reservations for dinner however the manager/waiter said our table was being prepared and asked us to wait when 5 minutes later a couple walk in and he seats them at a table of 6 our party was a table of 5. Just after they were seated he brings us to the back of the restaurant in front of the kitchen beside the bar that the servers are using and behind the singer that was there. I told him this was not acceptable tried to pass it off as the Chef's table, I told him who was he kidding that we were not going to be seated there. He became extremely rude agitated told us there were no other tables in the restaurant available so I was going to leave and asked to speak to someone in charge, that's when he informed us that he was the manager. He then proceeded to slam down cutlery, plates and glasses filled with water after moving us to show how upset he was that he had to move us. The food was so, so, nothing great to write home about the service was just alright, the music was loud and even after being moved you could hardly speak in fact even their own waiters complained about the loud music that they could hardly take our orders for the music. I was made to feel that I was less important than the Italian customers because the reservations were made under a Canadian name. In the end, the singer sang a song advising the remaining patrons that the restaurant was now closed and to drive home safely, this was at 11:00 p.m. I would most certainly not recommend this...

I would like to share my recent experience at MastroRoberto Trattoria restaurant . The place looks very good inside,and the food was delicious. However, we had a waiter, who may have thought that he was being friendly, but to be honest it seemed disrespectful in a way. First of all,he kept on touching us (girls) , tap on a shoulder, a hand or the back. It is ,in my opinion , and invasion of personal space and a harassment in a way. This is the first time ever that i saw a restaurant staff member conducting a physical contact with guests. We were having a conversation with my friends in our native language, and for some reason the waiter kept on interrupting us with his comments,which were not related to the menu nor restaurant. We were having wine, and ordered a Cosmopolitan cocktail for one of us, but he kept saying that we need vodka. He also talked about his private business when we wanted to order. Thanks to one of our friends, we went ahead and ordered anyway... He also brought out the olive paste and the hot peppers but not the bread. We had to ask for it after a long wait. Another thing is that he didn't bother telling us about the specials. We asked about it just after we ordered, as he was taking the menus away. In the end we wanted to break a bill,and that seemed to be a problem for the waiter,for whatever reason. When we were leaving, he didn't even turn his head to say goodbye. Overall not a good vibe...
