The Food was Great, But the Service Needs Work!!
We had just finished up swimming at a local community center and were looking for a quick and relatively healthy meal. I remembered from a past visit that there was a Vietnamese Thai place just a few minutes away. When we got there we found a somewhat empty restaurant with just a few tables occupied. The pencil and order pad was already on the table and we looked over the extensive menu and found a few things we could share. I asked the server if some of the meat selections in one of the Pho dishes was fully cooked, and she didn't know. I asked if the meatballs were precooked, again she didn't know. I asked if the "beef balls' in the House Special Pho were homemade, guess what??? She didn't know. So we went ahead and ordered the House Special and made sure I ate the rare prices. We also ordered a grilled chicken baguette or 'Bahn Mi Thit" and I also ordered a Pork Belly Bao, for myself. The soup was great and the biggest size was enough for all three of us the share ( 2 kids and 1 Adult) When the Baguette came out my 7-year-old daughter asked the server what was in the sauce on the Bhan Mi or if it was just the juice from grilling the chicken? Guess what?? She didn't know!!!!!. We decided not to ask our server any more questions and finished up and split.
As someone who has worked in the service industry and dines out regularly, it is imperative that your staff knows what's in the food!! What if someone at our table had allergies? Knowledge of your own restaurant's offerings is key to its success!! How did I learn so much about Viet-Thai cuisine?? I asked questions and received answers and advice on things to try. When I was a server most of the places I worked wouldn't let you out on the floor if you didn't know the menu inside out. A server's job is not only to take your order, but it's their job to guide you through the menu and hopefully, you try something new for a change. It also helps to increase the check. I know many of the Vietnamese Places out there are the 'check the box and fill out the pad style' but the ones where the staff can help you, explain the dishes and offer you more choices are the ones that stick around.
I'm willing to give this place another shot...why you might ask? It's because I've been there before and had a better experience, so I don't think all is lost. I think it's possible that maybe they were short-staffed and maybe the hostess or food-runner was pressed into service. If you're on the floor serving, you must...
Read moreI've only bought food here via Uber Eats. I've never been inside this restaurant so I cannot comment on service, atmosphere and etc.
For delivery, this place is REALLY REALLY good. They know how to package their food so that the noodles doesn't clump together. For example, when i ordered their noodle soup. They always package the noodles in a large container and spread the noodles out so that it doesn't clump together and their soup is always safely packaged so that it doesn't spill. I always get freshly made food from them.
The only negative is that their noodle soups and bao isn't that good.. noodle soups are kind of salty for my liking and there are better vietnamese restaurants with better food. By takeout standards, this place is very good and they are very efficient with the package. One last negative, they messed up my order once. It's not a big deal but I ordered a larger size and they served my noodle soup in a regular size container.
In summary, I recommend their vermicelli bowl and bun bo hue as a delivery or takeout option. It's a pretty good place. Not worth 5/5 but 4/5 as an Uber...
Read moreThe food was nice, and I had a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was not so special, but I love how it contributes to the chill vibes and authenticity of the restaurant. There is a variety of Thai and Vietnamese food on the menu—the options are limitless! The restaurant was not busy at all, so I got to dine in peace, and the lady who served us was very friendly.
For the price, everything was worth it and tasted exceptional. The food wasn't too salty, which fits my taste perfectly. I know a lot of pho places make their food on the saltier side, but the food here almost seemed "healthier" and refreshing. We also ordered the avocado rolls. There were four small rolls with sauce in the side. The lettuce added a nice crunch to the roll, and the avocados were fresh. I just hoped that there could have been more avocado inside. As for the pho, we ordered one plain and one seafood with vegetables. I personally liked the seafood one better, and I totally recommend it. The size was small for both bowls, so the quantity in the photos are little. The pho was warm and met my...
