Went for lunch with my husband today. First- and last time for us. We ordered the Gold Sashimi combo, temura shrimp, 3 different non sushi rice rolls. Server was pleasant and friendly. It was sometime after 4pm and the place was empty but cute. I went to the restroom to wash my hands. The floor was filthy. My flip flops were sticking to the floor that looked like it hadnt been washed in ages. The cupboard door handle was hanging off and the greasy garbage can was what appeared to be a garbage lined bucket of a food product like soya sauce.
The food: Tempura was good. The rest was impossible to eat. Our Gold Sashimi tray had slices of fish so thick it was like chewing a raw piece of fat. In addition the tray comes with sweet shrimp and Uni. Neither of these items were on the platter. I advised the server that the fish was way to thick and could not be eaten. She smiled. No suggestions on how to rectify the situation let alone notice that 2 of the most expensive ingredients were missing. Then the rolls arrived. Again the fish was too thick, big chunks in the middle, the rolls were way too big and not tighly rolled so the minute you attempted to pick one up the entire filling fell out onto your plate. Not pleasant to eat. Decided my best option was to ask for take out boxes so I could take my fish home and make poke bowls. Still hungry having only eaten a 1/4 of our meal we ordered 5 wings to hold us over and agreed that we would not return. I find it hard to believe that the person who prepared this sushi had ever done it before. We have eaten sushi for decades, all over the world including Japan. This was not sushi. For context I put a measuring tape along the various cuts of fish to demonstrate how poorly prepared the Sashimi was. No 2 pieces were alike and 1 is clearly...
Read moreHad sit down dinner with family last night and did not enjoy it. We used to order take outs during lockdown and experience was pretty good. Not so much for indoor dining. First, there were only 2 people getting the orders and they were the same set who were taking phone orders and sending out take out orders. Thay were too busy and were trying to move as fast as they could. The one star is for them. Second, our food did not come at the same time. Big gaps and I had to follow up multiple times. When I mentioned that they could cancel the order if not done yet, they would say it's coming. Then we have to wait a bit more. Third, the food was not that good. Really surprised. The beef teriyaki came, and the beef was only warm and wasn't cooked properly. My son has to spit out after chewing the beef as he cannot swallow it. Maybe the cut of beef that was used was just on the cheaper side, I don't know. Also, I agree in one of the reviews. We had a lot of fake crabs on the golden sashimi. I had a pokebowl. Nothing impressive.
I hope they are just adjusting to the removal of the restrictions, as they were really good before. But, I think we won't be...
Read morevisited this sushi restaurant with high expectations, but the experience was incredibly disappointing. Although the listed closing time was 10:00 PM, I arrived around 9:10 PM and confirmed with the staff that I could dine in. I placed a significant order, only to have the staff begin cleaning the floors with disinfectant at around 9:30 PM while I was still eating.
The worst part occurred around 9:50 PM. While I was actively eating, a staff member brought over takeout boxes and began packing up my food with chopsticks without even asking if I was finished. This was rude, unprofessional, and made me feel unwelcome. I was effectively forced to stop eating and pay my bill before I was ready.
If there were a special closing procedure or earlier cutoff time for dining in, this should have been communicated upfront when I entered. I understand restaurants need to clean up, but treating customers like this is unacceptable. It made me question if the hours listed on Google Maps are inaccurate or if the restaurant simply doesn’t respect its posted schedule.
I won’t be returning and would caution others about the...
