I had these samosas years ago, and used to work beside the owner at craft fairs, I was a very regular customer until I became very low income. I'd been raving about how amazing and tasty these samosas are. I was overjoyed when I saw they were advertising free delivery! So I contacted them to order some for an upcoming party of mine. I ordered them 6 days early, as I wanted to make sure they had what I wanted in stock, and that I would get them on time. I worked in the morning of my party day, and said she could drop them off after 2 (as I didn't want to be out when she tried to come by, but any logical person would understand that after 2pm doesn't literally mean anytime between 2pm and midnight.... let's be reasonable here). I got home early at 1:30 and told her she's welcome to drop by anytime. Later in the day, she told me she had another delivery to do first, and she'd be at my house BY 5:30. No problem I said, we had planned samosas for a late lunch, but we just switch our day around and had dinner for lunch and planned on having samosas for dinner! 5:30 came around and she didn't show up or even text... it wasn't until after 6pm that I got a message saying they'd be by at 7:40 - 2 hours and 10 minutes later then the latest time they said. This is too late for us, our party would be over soon, and we needed to feed our family. We're low income, so we had set aside the money we wanted to spend on samosas, we had saved up for the treat. I couldn't make my family wait until almost 8pm to eat, our party would be over by then. I had no choice but to cancel my order and use the money for other food. I was really sad after raving about how great the samosas are, to have to cancel. Then I was met with a tsunami of texts from the owner. First she blamed her other customer, calling her a pain, saying she was supposed to be home before 5:30 but she didn't show up. Then she blamed me saying I didn't tell her they were for an event and she would have shown up on time if she knew it was an event (which really shouldn't matter.... she should be on time regardless of why I ordered them. She made a commitment to be here BY 5:30 and didn't even bother texting), then she tried to blame me again, saying I told her after 2pm and wasn't specific enough, then she tried blaming her phone saying she didn't have data. Every time I checked my phone I had 11 or 12 new messages from her, making more and more excuses and non-apologies like "I'm sorry if you took my wording the wrong way". She even waited till almost 11pm to say she was going to drop them off for free for the inconvenience..... so why didn't she? When I said I'm sorry but I have to cancel, why didn't she just say "I understand if you need to use the money to get food earlier, but I'm still happy to drop them off to keep you as a customer" - why did she wait so long to say she wanted to comp the order? Because I don't believe she had any intention of doing it at all, if she had the intention then she would have followed through. Actions speak so much louder than words. In the end, I'm sad that it feels I've lost an old friend, I'm sad that instead of just apologizing and moving on, she decided to flood my inbox with excuse after excuse. I'm sad she lied and didn't follow her word, and instead of just taking responsibility for not organizing her day so that she'd be able to drop them off by 5:30 when she said, that she just made excuses, insulted her other customers, and...
Read moreBest samosas I've ever had - & I've eaten a lot of samosas! Not only do they have unique samosa fillings (like butter chicken and spinach and potato) but they also have the traditional chicken, beef and veggie samosas. The filling is delicious, but its the crispy pastry that it what knocks these out of the park and makes them the best samosas I've ever had. Some cafes have soggy pastry (yuck) but these shells are super crispy. They also freeze very well so if you're a busy person on the go like me you can keep them in the freezer and defrost when you need a quick bite. I highly recommend these. I have also taken my coworkers to get fresh ones and they thought they were delicious as well. Keep up...
