Not Recommended… Big No
Recently visited the restaurant with my family and, unfortunately, our experience was The Worst due to the front counter lady staff. From the moment we entered at 5:50 pm on 19th Nov, the staff seemed disinterested and inattentive. We asked the table for 5, she showed us the table right beside door on left. After we sat down we felt very cold & we asked for another table to the same lady, she replied “No we don’t have any tables for 5” the level of politeness was below 0, we have been to lot of restaurants in Vancouver, even if its not available there is a way of speaking to customers. Then, We had to request her to join the table for us, then she replied “ok but you have to carry your drink and move.” cherry on top the table she moved was unstable there is noway she missed that she just pretend to move the table & went somewhere else.
Its really frustrating we visited from Vancouver & United States to Victoria, we were looking for a good place for our dinner after struggling to find the entry for parking-lot we finally reached to restaurants then after we entered the service was pathetic. The lady treated us like she is doing favour for us.. With all due respect, you guys really need to train the staff. We were ignoring from beginning, we had to catch ferry to Vancouver but when it was too much we immediately left the restaurant, we were ready to order but the way we got treated was very disrespectful.
I believe every customer deserves a positive dining experience, and unfortunately, Royal Spice Fine Indian Cuisine fell short in delivering that during our visit. I hope restaurant take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements to enhance your...
Read moreThe service was great. Our server was kind and patient as I fumbled on my words a number of times to order.
The food. THE FOOD! The food was fantastic. We ordered Shahi Paneer, and Lamb Spinach Curry, both were presented over a candle holder to keep the food warm during the meal (love it!). Shahi Paneer has been my steady favourite for years, and Royal Spice made some of the BEST. The lamb spinach curry was also amazing, I was expecting to take most home (which usually happens) but it didn't make it that far, it ended up being eaten the fastest (I couldn't even get a picture before it was gone).
We also ordered Tandoori Chicken, which came out smoking and sizzling on a skillet, and it was really good too, I personally wasn't a fan of the way the pieces were cut which made it a bit awkward to eat, but that didn't stop it from being just as delicious as the other dishes.
We ordered Stuffed Choley Bhatura to go, and now I have to make sure I can afford to get that every time because it was SO GOOD and that was as a leftover! (The sauce was great cold too)
We ordered a medium heat level when asked, and I didn't find it any spicier than.. say.. "Nandos Peri Peri" sauce (in fact, the peri peri was likely spicier) with a slow heat that built slightly over time. Most other places on the island avoid adding any spicy flavours when I order more than "mild" (though it's understandable why), so I'm glad that they put in some heat with medium, and now I'm excited to try the higher heat levels next time!
PS: Oh, and of course the Chai tea was...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Royal Spice Fine Indian Cuisine in Victoria, and it was an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and I was impressed by the wide variety of dishes that were available. I tried several different dishes, including the Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Biryani Rice, Dal Makhani, Seekh Kabab, and Lamb Chops. Each one was prepared to perfection, with rich and complex flavors that left me wanting more. The butter chicken was particularly noteworthy, with a rich tomato sauce that was well-balanced with the right amount of spices. The Chicken Tikka Massala was also delicious and had a great smoky flavor. The Biryani Rice was also a great choice, it was fluffy and had a nice blend of spices and saffron. The Dal Makhani was a nice creamy lentil dish that was rich and satisfying. The Seekh Kabab was juicy and had a great taste and texture. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection and had a great balance of flavors and tenderness. I also appreciated the variety of sides that were available, which really rounded out the meal nicely.
The service was also top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who were more than happy to help with menu suggestions and make sure that we had everything we needed. The prices were also very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food.
All in all, I highly recommend Royal Spice Fine Indian Cuisine to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Indian dining experience in Victoria. It's definitely...
