May 27, 2024 - My partner was happy with our first visit to Bangers, so when he heard about the smash burgers we decided to make the trek down and were prepared for another great meal. My partner has a severe dairy allergy and asked politely for the burger to have no cheese. To which Dallin bluntly stated, “no modifications. They come as they are made.”
My partner looked at me confused and asked politely again if they could not add cheese onto the burger. Again, Dallin refused staring blankly at my partner with no real explanation. We were told that they would not withhold the cheese, despite my partners allergy, because the burger would no longer be a “cheeseburger”. Meanwhile, Victoria on the grill affirmed Dallin’s decision as she shook her head at the mere thought of making a hamburger instead of a cheeseburger. It actually turned into some what of a confrontational situation…over a slice of cheese.
This business is run by owners with more ego than hospitality. There are a handful of better burger joints that are willing to cater to their clients reasonable requests. Why support a local business that considers withholding a slice of cheese a modification? Try Burger Crush, Big Wheel, or Bin4 instead of these pretenders.
May 30, 2024 - Victoria, I appreciate your response despite its inaccuracy. While you may find it offensive that we are trying to “shame” Dallin for following your business model, understand that Dallin was not kind to us. He spoke with an arrogant, condescending and unwelcoming tone. He did not recommend any nearby alternatives, nor did he treat us with respect or hospitality. He made his remarks and scuffed. Dallin looked back at you and smirked with a “can you believe they’re asking this?” attitude, to which you responded with a belittling laugh and shook your head while preparing the patties.
It is obvious to me that this is a case of mistaken identity or perhaps you are flat out making false inferences. Thank you for providing us with further insight regarding your “no modifications” policy, as this is now the third incident we have heard of regarding a terrible encounter with you and Dallin.
Evidently, whether it is your business model or Dallin’s, it is clear that your overbearing need to have your customers taste your recipe exactly as you imagined it has not only hurt your image but shown me that your recipe relies so heavily on a piece of American store-bought cheese to impress your customers that maybe the modifications that should be made are to...

I've had amazing Oklahoma smash burgers from Bangers in the past. But I find their sauce too much, so I order it without sauce. And in the past, I've been given burgers without the sauce.
Today I endured an extra 20 minutes of construction traffic to get my bangers burger fix. Finally to the window I ask for a double Oklahoma no sauce, only to be rebuffed with "no substitutions" by the staff. Um, what? I told him I've gotten burgers from them without sauce in the past. He was resolute so I left.
This tells me you think your burgers are perfect as is. And to some palates, maybe they are. But there are some who do not like your sauce. So you take a hard line at this? How ridiculous to be so obtuse. Even George Motz himself agrees that to each their own when dressing a burger.
Should this rule change in the future, perhaps I may return. But until that day, I will spend my money elsewhere.
