We have been devoted fans of Parachute Ice Cream since our 1st bite. It is always delicious and the flavours are amazing! The staff are always welcoming, helpful and lovely to deal with however today, they knocked it out of the park with their kindness & generosity. We have a dear friend in Parksville in late stage (palliative) ALS. Her favourite ice cream flavour has always been chocolate cherry, but we haven't been able to find it for her. She has been craving it as swallowing regular food is difficult for her now. We wrote to Parachute asking if they ever make that flavour. They told us that they sometimes make a Black Forest cake flavour in the spring which would be similar, & they would let us know if they made it this spring. Yesterday, Didi of Parachute Ice Cream emailed to say they had made some ice cream for our friend!! We were thrilled and touched that they had managed to fit it into their schedule of flavours. However, when we went to pick it up - they had made her up a box of icecream with her name on the labels..... We can't get over the thoughtfulness & generosity demonstrated by Didi and the Parachute team. We have previously bought different flavours of their ice cream for her as a treat, but this will touch her & reduce her to tears as it did to us. We are so grateful & will continue to praise Parachute Icecream everywhere we go. It is divine & so...

The ice cream was fine but probably won't return because the employees were very rude/arrogant. I didn't know which flavour to choose, and they mentioned 2 flavours but I decided on 1 scoop. When I was getting ready to pay, I asked if I got a double scoop, how much would that be? The employee answered in a tone that made me realize she must have thought I was stupid and said $10. Hearing that it was exactly double the price for a double scoop, I decided against it. I was sure I saw a note saying double scoops are $7.50, in front of the register. After eating ice cream at 2 other places on the island and double scoops not being double the price, I had to look into their prices. Turns out the employee wasn't very bright and indeed thought I was asking about pricing for 2 separate cones, weird when I asked double scoop and not 2 cones.

tl; dr employee's customer service sucked and has lost a customer, even if their ice cream is good

This was for the Bridge...

I ordered a cake on the 23rd for my partners birthday on the 27 of april and was told they would call within 48hours when it was ready and after trying relentlessly to get ahold of them the 26 and 27th when i called the 28th she had no idea who we where its a darn good thing my neighbors told me how bad they where the day of and i was able ti get dairy queen to make a blizzard cake the same day but major disappointment as parachute used to be our favorite spot before this happend i would put negative 10 stars if i could Real Big Disappointment you guys lost a good customer and inspired a great review video for DQ on our youtube page will stick with dairy queen next time for all our cakes unless we want our parties ruined!!! By this clearly...

This place would probably be really hard to find unless you use Google maps. We thought we were lost. But oh man, was my 2 scoops (more like 10 scoops cuz that thing was HUGE!) of ice cream delicious! We got the kahlua and the pumpkin spiced latte. Awesome combo. Our friend got the pineapple sorbet and she really loved it too. There are 2 types of pints here you can take home. The regular (paper container) @ $10 and the Water Buffalo pint (glass container) @ $12. At first we were really confused, but after talking to a friend who knows the store owner, he said the milk from the ice cream is really produced by water buffalos in a local farm on the Island! The taste of the milk may not be for everyone but id like to try it if I get the chance next time.

Located in the more industrial side of Victoria, ice cream is one of the top choice. You can buy the ice cream by the pint for 10$. That being said, locally owned and I’ve cream made in store. There are some great flavours, favourites are carrot cake and mini eggs (when in season). The customer service has always been great when I’ve gone and despite reviews with 1 star saying it’s awful, the shop is busy due to it being popular and having good ice cream not due to lack of care from employees. Additionally I think I read that the shop was not sanitary, it looks clean every time, even when they are working on making ice cream, cones. Highly recommend!

One of my longtime coworker recommended this place last year but didn't have the chance to time an opportunity until today. In 24°C weather en route to a medical appointment? Why not? The only catch was my cone got soft and split in half so I gad to eat my double cone faster than I would like. Then again, you're talking about a person who can handle 4 scoops of ice cream in a cone at Ben & Jerry's Waterbury HQ in Vermont as well as eating a Monster size cone at Ribfest. Eating ice cream fast is a piece of 🍰! Otherwise absolutely delicious. I'll come again for some take home next time when I time my visits better.
