I don’t think I’ve ever written a review before and if I have it was literally YEARS ago but the service I literally didn’t receive was shocking.
I live close by and was on my way to work tonight and decided to stop at the plaza to grab something on my way to work. Rather than go into the grocery store I decided to stop at this booster juice. It was 8:15pm and the signage indicated it’s open til 9p.
I walked in, the worker was clearly getting a jump on cleaning and wants to be out right at 9. I get it. I work late nights and do something similar toward the end of the night.
They did say “hi” and walked to the register. I wasn’t sure what I wanted, but knew I wanted a juice. I was bouncing back and forth between 3 juices and apologizing several times for taking so long while still looking at the menu - they didn’t acknowledge anything I said until the third “I’m sorry” when the menu flipped to something else and I said “Oh! The menu flipped I’m so sorry I still don’t know what I want”. I looked back at the worker and they said in a very frustrated tone “You want a juice?” And stormed over to the juicer while I answered “yeah….”.
They then proceed to VERY abruptly throw what looked like a cutting board onto the counter and take pieces of the juicer apart or maybe put it together. Seemingly frustrated I said “is that ok?”
“Yep, I can do it” they hastily replied while looking at the clock. Not feeling welcome I decided not to continue to order anything and said “you seem very frustrated, just forget the whole thing. I’ll leave”
And immediately their tone turned very sweet and they superficially replied “have a good night”.
And listen… I get it. I work in the service industry. And had I walked in 15 minutes before closing and this interaction happened, I probably wouldn’t have bothered with this. However I walked in at 8:15 and this location was open for service for another 45 minutes.
I understand that bad days happen - but nothing I said or did warranted that reaction from that employee. If they had even said “it takes 25 minutes to clean the juicer and I have still have X amount of work” I probably would have asked if a smoothie would be more convenient.
Instead they acted like I was a terrible person for even coming through the door 45 minutes before the end of their shift.
I hope in the future they are kinder to people. I just wanted a quick snack before my...
Read moreI drive for Skip the Dishes. I just waited about 9 minutes to be aknowledged and have my allready prepared order of 1 smoothie and a hot boxed item handed to me with 3 on staff. They had somewhat of line up fair enough. But when the cashier was done they jjst stared at me then went to the back and grabbed a mop. It took a moment for the one employee busy making orders to notice me and grab my smoothie from the cooler and the one seemingly allready prepared hot item of the back counter. I'm pretty sure it was ready to go the whole time. For a 12 min/7km delivery. I hope for my customers' sake the otem...
Read moreMany times I have made mobile drink orders and depending on who's working the order will be ready by the time I get there or won't its a 50/50 shot. I even give usually a 30 minute window] last week I attempted to show up and get my "name day" free drink and googled and the store hours were 730am. They had not opened for the day and it was 740am. Seems like this business doesn't know how to hire competent reliable workers- its a sad shame. I would offer a better star rate if they didn't do this consistently. I think I'll go to the other business now- a bit of a drive but worth the...
