I picked up one of their meal boxes yesterday. It's advertised to feed 2-3 people, which is pretty accurate. It consisted of 4 sandwiches (2 chicken Katsu sliders and 2, 5 spice pork bahn-mi sliders) a pile of delicious veggie Cantonese noodles and a serving of crispy pork belly. First I have to say that the chicken sliders are huge for a slider. The chicken was thick, crispy and juicy, well seasoned and topped with a wonderful coleslaw. (All sauces are made in house) Next, the 5 spice pork was tender and flavourful. The noodles were cooked, seasoned and garnished perfectly. The detail made by cutting the carrots like flowers and the long diagonal sliced cucumbers was very pleasing to the eyes. The pickle daikon had me coming back for more. Now to the pork belly. Perfect, juicy, meaty, salty with an amazing crunchy skin! I dipped a portion in some of the hot sauce, which was delicious but the pork belly really doesn't need anything, it does well on its own. Kat and Jin have a passion for their food and it shows. I appreciate how they make almost everything themselves and for the few items they don't make (breads, pastries) they collaborate with other local businesses. Local supporting local makes my heart smile. I'm looking forward to my next boxed meal adventure from them. Follow them on Instagram for updates on menu items. Everything is takeout. Order ahead, schedule a pickup time. Pickup was fast and easy. They are...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of enjoying food from Filipino Fusion Gayuma Catering, 401 Weber St N, Waterloo, and I was absolutely impressed by both the quality and the flavour of their dishes. Every bite reflected care, balance, and authenticity with a creative twist that made the meal unforgettable.
The Spicy Bulgogi Pork with Kimchi and Zucchini was a standout. The pork was perfectly tender, marinated in a flavorful sauce that hit the ideal balance of heat and sweetness. The spice built gradually but never overwhelmed, pairing beautifully with the crunch and tang of the kimchi. The zucchini added a refreshing, slightly sweet contrast that tied the whole dish together — a vibrant, well-rounded fusion of flavours.
The Chicken Lemongrass with Rice was equally impressive. The chicken was juicy, aromatic, and infused with the bright, citrusy notes of lemongrass. It was comforting yet exciting — the kind of dish that makes you stop after the first bite and smile. The rice was cooked just right, absorbing the savoury juices from the chicken for a truly satisfying finish.
Overall, Filipino Gayuma Catering delivered an exceptional experience. The food was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with love and attention to detail. I would highly recommend them for any event or gathering — your guests will be raving about the food long after...
Read moreOur first time trying Gayuma and we loved it! Bibimbap was on the menu for this weekend. Wow!! They packed that box full of very fresh and delightfully flavourful goodness. Husband and I stuffed ourselves and there's still leftovers enough for a lunch. While we aren't a fan of pork belly, that's just us, not because of how they prepared it - it was tasty but we just find it too fatty a cut. Everything else was great, especially the garlicky beef, the mushrooms, and mmmm the sauce. I loved that they packed the crispy seaweed separately so that it actually stayed crispy. Lots of flavours, colours, and textures making it a fun, satisfying, and thoroughly enjoyable meal. We will definitely order from...
