Grillies (King St. - Waterloo) — Restaurant in Waterloo

Idk how the other reviewer had food here as they opened today September 6th and her review was 5 days ago but. Lol.

Great new stop in Uptown! Everything was made fresh, unmatched prices! If you have a choice between a $20 McDonald's combo or a $10 burger combo at Grillies, take the extra trip down the road on King Street and treated yourself and your wallet to unmatched value.

Keep up the good work guys!!!!! This is a prefect pricing model for Uptown Waterloo and will be a super hit with the students.

EDIT : Going to have to knock this down a peg to reflect how Grillies has done business since opening.

The issue of how understaffed this location is doesn't help anything. The wait times are not even close to ok for a fast food place. 35 mins for food is insane in this age. Also, when you order off of Grillies website like they alway say to do. There's a 20 min wait, last two times I went in after 20 mins, the order still wasn't ready. If you're going to advertise that people should use the website to speed up time of service. Then speed up time of service... I only ever see one staff member in the restaurant. And I am there multiple times a week. Stop trying to make all the money you can without paying staff. This is getting ridiculous...

EDIT AGAIN... Today was even worse. Ordered through Uber for pick up. Half an hour later I walked in to pick up. Not only are they not ready, but there is 4 other people waiting with the same look on their face as I had on mine. I'm going to go ahead and drop them to a one star. This is a brutal excuse for a restaurant. One staff that I've never saw before, crowded restaurant, no help. Long service times. Just a joke, whoever owns this location needs to stop being so greedy and hire some staff. Not even close to ok when you place a pick up order. I'm still here waiting. I'll update with the final time from order placement to it being in my hands.

They deserve big props for being open 24 hours, great selection of foods, clean available bathroom 🚻, and having a very warm place to come eat. The cheeseburger 🍔 i ordered was excellent, very yummy and loved the wide variety of toppings offered.Where I wasn't pleased was my girlfriend has allergies and I asked if my girlfriend could get a chicken burger on a corn tortilla instead of a bun ( wheat ), most owners would say sure but, this owner refused ( either he didn't understand what I was asking and why, or he just didn't want to do it ? Gluten free/ dairy free options should be offered 🫴 especially these days ( buns, corn tortillas , almond milk 🥛 in shakes/ smoothies. I thought the French fries sucked, weren't seasoned, figured they were cheap frozen fries thrown into the fryer ( fresh cut fries would make them a fortune ( prepped the day of or day before ) Prices for some things were much higher than I expected but, overall I was pleased with the prices, just more flexibility and better communication ( language barrier ), and the only other criticism was that we had to put our trays by the garbage for them to collect later instead of taking them at the counter or coming to get them at our table. I guess it may have been a cleanliness thing, and how busy they get and don't wanna be throwing gloves away all the time to throw garbage out...

Talk about a incompetent group of people I go there every other day but never again! these people have never eat a burger in there life clearly, they put the toppings on the bottom of the burger, god don't ask them to correct it they will just sit there stairing at you with a dirty look on there face not saying anything " meanwhile you just paid for it and you'll be eatting it" as if there hoping u will just get mad and walk out or they will say " you never asked for that" when I was reading it out from a order, that was written down on my phone clearly your not paying attention! sit there and debate it... they clearly don't understand English or there high on drugs cause he looked out to lunch and completely screwed up my order " probably on purpose so you wont come back" asked for 2 buger combos one with large fry, one with small he gives me one with large fry one with no frys I say what is this? Then he said u never asked for the fries I will make u a small fry trys to charge me 4.80$ for a small fry that woulda been 2$ on my combo after tipping him about 5$, then get home look at the bugers missing half the toppings like try whiping down stuff down place is a mess! This was 30 min ago, lunch time!...
