We went to Milestones on boardwalk waterloo for my husband’s birthday last week and had the worst experience ever. My husband and one daughter ordered the surf turf which was $69/each. When we got our food there was this horrible smell and it was so overpowering that I could barely eat my food, and then we realized it was coming from both of the surf turf steak dinners, it smelled so bad that none of us enjoyed our food but we were trying to be courteous to each other and not ruin my husband’s day. We told the waitress and had her smell how bad it was and she said sorry we’ve recently changed our recipes and it’s the new seasoning, she offered us 50% discount for the two surf turf entrees, both my daughter and husband did not eat their steak and only ate the sides and seafood that came with it. So we packed the steaks to take home thinking maybe it’s the seasoning and the smell might get better once it’s been sitting. Anyhow my husband took the leftover for lunch the next day and everyone at his work was about to barf from the terrible smell and it stank up the whole lunch room and was thrown out. Even my daughter who loves steak did not event touch her steak and my dog refused to eat it as well. I called milestones to complain and wanted to speak with the manager and I was told manager is not available and will call me back but it’s been more than 4 days and I have not received a call. Very clearly they don’t care about their customers and serve food that’s gone bad and should be thrown out, not served. You don’t expect to go to a restaurant and pay $69/entree to get spoiled food and have such terrible experience. And I can’t believe that the manger didn’t even care enough to call and apologize. I don’t recommend ever going here and especially...
Read moreThis use to be our go to spot but tonight was not like what it use to be. The place wasn't even close to being half full but still to a long time for drinks and food to come. When we got our pitcher of mohito it was a weird tan yellow color that tasted very watered down, more like a bad gin and tonic. The one guy came over and said it didn't look right and made us a new one. It was ok but not even close to what we are use to there. We have sent plenty of people there just for this drink! It use to be full of favour to the last drop. The calamari was under cooked, you could take and feel the wet batter. Guess the oil wasn't hot enough. Flavour was great though! The new crispy chicken sandwich with yam fries and a caesar salad were very good and very crispy. You can tell the place needs a good cleaning. The Wooden beams they have over the main area holding the lights are very dirty, the menus and table all look like they have seen better days. The guy that made us the new drink gave us a free dessert which was nice. Our daughter had the pasta with tomato sauce, she loves all kinds of pasta, she didnt like it and when I tried it there was no flavour. She got the small ice cream sandwich, thinking it was a made in house thing, nope just a mini Chapman's sandwich. It really sucks it's not what it use to be like, we have been going for years and never had a bad dish. It would be nice to see the servers in more appropriate uniforms. No need for everyone one wearing something completely different and way to short of skirts . Let your food bring people in, not girls in short skirts. I hope you guys can improve, your...

We don’t visit this restaurant often, but when we do, it’s usually a pleasant experience. On this particular night, my partner ordered the black cod with gnocchi, and I opted for the stuffed portabella mushroom. For our appetizer, we tried the coconut calamari. The food was delicious, and the service was attentive, especially considering our server was new and made sure to let us know. She was very helpful throughout the meal.
However, my partner’s dish, though tasty, came with a shockingly small portion of fish. When the server asked how everything was, he politely inquired, “Where’s the other half of my cod?” At $35, it seemed unreasonable to be served such a tiny portion, mostly consisting of pasta. To address this, the manager offered to have another piece of fish prepared, but when it arrived, it was completely raw.
At this point, they apologized and offered us a free dessert, which we declined. My partner then requested that his meal be comped, as the issue wasn’t resolved. Initially, the server returned with an offer of 20% off, which felt inadequate given the situation. After some back and forth, the manager ultimately decided to comp the entire meal. While they did “fix” it in the end, it felt like a bit of a negotiation, and by then, the experience had somewhat dampened our evening.
We understand that prices are rising, but $35 for mostly pasta felt excessive. Although the situation was eventually handled, it did affect our...
