Phillips Shawarma — Restaurant in Waterloo

Decent shawarma place, but after having dined at many shawarma places and observing a lot of differences, a few things to point out that are disappointing.

Portion size in general leaves you to desire more, plates and wraps are really not filling. Portions aren't generous to say the least, quite the opposite in fact. We sampled both.

There are quite a few salad side choices from the traditional iceberg, couscous, radish salad, pasta salad and others. However I'm not a fan of being allowed only one choice for salad for a plate that is $12-13 regular price, not counting the weekend special. Other places I've been to give you at least two to three salad choices.

More desired and pretty disappointing considering the solid reviews on this...

I love food and I know what shawarma is the best. Today I decided to check this place out. The store is fairly clean but they had some technical issues with their screen menu was showing two different price for the same food. Of course I paid the most expensive price because it was during lunch time. I have problem with two things, old meat that was served from one of those containers and the meat was old, dark and hard/chewy. Plus for pick up order they are asking for tip. Tips are giving when a client is dining in and is being served not when you stand on the line to pick up your food to go. My advice, don’t serve the old meat and don’t ask tip when it’s not earned. FYI, I still gave a tip...

It’s a small & cosy shawarma restaurant. They have variety of shawarmas, falafel, rice & desserts. I ordered a plate shawarma & a chicken shawarma wrap, the meat was tender juicy & nicely marinated. I loved the rice of place shawarma which is very flavour, but just they need to increase the quantity of it was too little as a meal for 1 person (so -1 ⭐️).The salads included were also great in taste, you can make choices of what you want in your plate & the wrap. The hummus was delectable. The prices are quite reasonable. There are tables for dine in aswell. They do have a parking as it is located in a complex. I shall visit them again to try other...
