Finally got to go after new ownership changed! This place is a bit pricier for me so I hadn't been in a few months, since before the ownership changed. The new owner was quite cold and wouldn't greet me, but the same great staff that I'm used to was there, and their new seating area was quite nice! I think a big difference for them now are the inclusion of fries on the menu. Their fries look quite good, though I didn't try them on this outing.

All that said, I was a bit disappointed in my meal, but I think this is a problem exclusive to my regular order. My favourite thing to get at quick sandwich has always been the pulled chicken sandwich. It USED to be a pre-made portion of chicken, sauces, spices, and onions that you could get warmed up with melted cheese on top. Unfortunately it looks like they've totally erased that old recipe and instead make it fresh for you with each order? I watched as the employee diced together my topping choices (mushroom onion pepper) with a tiny portion of chicken and some sauce of choice. They then cooked this in the oven and then put it on the sandwich, but since my toppings had already been used I couldn't really add more on it except for some mayo. This is instead of having say, a thick layer of just pulled chicken meat, and THEN my toppings on top with sauces. The sandwich was not as wet, not as thick, tasted wildly different from the old pulled chicken (not really a bad thing but worth noting), was not NEARLY as filling, AND costed more???????? I was really disappointed in this, especially after paying $20 for a sandwich and cookie. The cookie was also a bit different from the old recipe, and was hard and difficult to eat.

As said, I don't think this is the case for the rest of their sandwiches. If you got something with sliced deli meat or tuna salad or something similar that they wouldn't have changed you're probably in luck and will continue to enjoy quick sandwiches. I was just personally really disappointed that my hands-down favourite sandwich place in town increased the price of my favourite sandwich while giving you a smaller,...

Wouldn't recommend going here anymore. They have new owners.. was expecting the same classic spot but its nothing the same.. I ordered a sandwich today and noticed they had a "meal deal" frys+pop so I asked the lady to add it to my order, upon check out I asked for a "Nestea can pop" and she's mentioned it'll be an additional 1.99 charge but any other can pop that has CARBONATION was part of this deal.. their sign did not mention this and they did not hold their business standards of the deal they offered to customers.. pretty ridiculous I would need to pay extra to not have a carbonated pop.. next was my frys, complete BURNT AND CRISP I didn't realize till I got on the bus im a studant and was in a rush so didn't think it wouldbe necessaryto see if my frys were cooked right, this lady did not care about her customer the previous owners would have never allowed this behavior, they treated you like family. These new owners are ridiculous and better yet at a "quick sandwich" location their meal special of the day was butter chicken??? Like huh? At a sandwich spot.. ok.. oh and their courtesy pickle was like biting into wet toilet paper. Was a horrible "meal" my sandwich was okay just way to much sauce...

If you're looking for the classic cheerful-Canadian vibes, look elsewhere this store is now bought out and SWITCHING TO HORRIBLE QUICK-STANDARDS 😉...

If you had asked me two years ago, I would have given five stars. However, every time I come back - I am left more disappointed. There have been two times I've watched the person making the sandwich go to scoop the cream cheese only to realize it was moldy. Today I watched the manager of the location (I think he is actually the owner) - berate a young employee while training him. He was polite to customers, but very rude to his new employee. It seemed that they perhaps they know each other outside of this employee/employer relationship - but it did not create a pleasant environment and had me questioning if I plan to ever return.

The young, new employee did a great job making my sandwich - but the experience was totally ruined by watching his manager breathe down his neck the entire time and treat him poorly over the smallest things.

Also, the folks calling this a great value for the price clearly haven't been watching the service, quality and portion-size decline over the last few years. $15 for two slices of processed turkey in a sandwich, a can of pop and a cookie? Not a...

Zero stars for the egg salad sandwich: The egg salad did not taste good. If that's the way it's supposed to taste, I still give zero stars. Zero stars for the Paid-for side Pickle: The $0.99 pickle I paid for was sent as a quarter pickle that was floppy and rubbery. I did call(I wasn't rude or anything, I'm not mad, just disappointed), and the manager was nice about it, said I should have gotten two-quarters of a pickle, which I still disagree with TBH; it says a side pickle not a side of two quarters. I give three stars to the manager or person who answered the call. They did the right thing and were very polite. They offered a store credit, I might go back to try a different sandwich as that was my first time ordering. I can't give more stars because I'm still hungry and can't drive back for a replacement and my lunch break is almost over.

There is no doubt that Benjamin (the owner) is the undisputed King of Sandwiches in the Tri-Cities. Despite long odds, the eatery has survived an extremely harsh retail environment in Uptown Waterloo over the last few years (LRT construction and COVID), and today it is thriving! While there are lots of strong reviews of the sandwiches here, one item that is underrated are the Salads! Ben and his Associates will craft you the biggest, freshest salad you've ever had with as many toppings/veggies as you want. If you haven't tried one yet I highly recommend it! And yes, Ben has a colourful personality, but if you want bland, go to Subway (for taste and for tact). Come for the sandwich/salad, dine-in for the entertainment! Cheers,
