I have been ordering food from this place from very long(1.5 years)
The taste/quality/quantity has been decent but there are occasions where their taste is not consistent either lack in flavour / meat is chewy.
Yesterday I ordered Small Chicken tray which costed $62.
Dissatisfied with the quantity of Rice and meat. 2.Dissatisfied with the Taste of Biryani. No flavour . I can say by far the worst biryani I had. This is not exaggeration. I tried eating at North Indian biryanis in-fact they tasted way better than this.
Called the restaurant to provide feedback but they were not ready to accept it.
Overall, I will never order from this place.

Firstly, thank you for responding. I’m not complaining about cost but the quantity of partially filled biryani as you see in the pic, there is almost empty at the side. The pic was taken immediately opening the cover of Tray.
Secondly, yes the taste was not good. It’s customers who tell if the taste was/is good or not. It’s not a random or deliberate foul on your restaurant. I gave my review based on the experience I had.
Finally, you are not doing any favour by offering free biryani. That’s so rude that you gave this statement.
My name is Kiran, I gave review though my friend ordered on my behalf.
Price-conscious - if I was price conscious customer with the size of the tray you serve I would never have ordered or come back again and again. I mentioned the price so people will know. It’s insane response...
Read moreShiri's Kitchen is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious and authentic Indian Hyderabadi cuisine in Lexington, Waterloo. As soon as you step into the restaurant, you are greeted by the warm and welcoming atmosphere, which is a reflection of the family-owned and operated business.
We had the pleasure of trying several dishes during our visit, and each one was better than the last. The Idly and Medhu vada were the perfect start to our meal - light, fluffy, and flavorful. The Spring Masala Dosa was also excellent, with a crispy exterior and a delicious potato filling.
However, the star dish of the meal was undoubtedly the Szechuan Chicken Dosa. This unique twist on a classic Indian dish was an explosion of flavors in every bite. The dosa was perfectly crispy, and the chicken filling had just the right amount of spice. The coconut and tomato chutney served with the dosa complemented the dish perfectly, adding a refreshing and tangy element to the meal.
The biryanis were also outstanding - the chicken, mutton, and veg options were all flavorful and cooked to perfection. The masala tea was the perfect way to end the meal, with a warm and comforting blend of spices.
Overall, Shiri's Kitchen exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, and the service was excellent. We left feeling satisfied and eager to return. If you're looking for the best Hyderabadi cuisine in town, Shiri's Kitchen should be at the top...
Read moreI was very disappointed in the quality of the food. We ordered the paneer curry of the day and the butter chicken. Both curries were extraordinarily spicy and had no flavour. While there was a good amount of chicken, it didn’t taste good at all and the paneer and peppers were minimal.
The naans were not naans but kulcha that were store bought and warmed. The only saving grace was it tasted like garlic as advertised.
The veg thali was barely edible - the mixed veg korma was disgusting. It was watery and tasted of mashed veggies. The eggplant fry was oily. The raina was like buttermilk- watery and thin.
Honestly, I would not recommend Shiri’s to anyone. Perhaps there are some dishes they are good at but it was not any of the above. They should stick to what they know and only sell that.
After a long day of driving and moving, this was the last thing I expected from a restaurant rated so well.
Update: 10/05 - I’d like to say thank you to the owners for acknowledging the move however I can happily assure all readers that the day of driving and moving did not affect my, my fathers or my cousin’s taste buds. In fact, it’s said when you’re hungry, food tastes better so that in of itself should speak volumes.
I would also like to add the I can appreciate how hard it is for restaurants to operate in the pandemic world. That being said, it’s so important to do a few things well.
No update to the rating - if anything, they need a downgrade for...
