Yang Yum is an absolute gem of a Korean takeout restaurant. From the moment I walked in, the aromatic scents of authentic Korean cuisine filled the air, instantly transporting me to Seoul. The menu boasts an impressive variety of traditional dishes, each bursting with flavor and made with the utmost care.
The friendly staff at Yang Yum ensured that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. They were knowledgeable, helpful, and more than willing to accommodate any dietary preferences or restrictions. The attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction truly set this place apart.
Now let's talk about the food. Each dish I ordered was a culinary masterpiece. The bibimbap was a colorful medley of fresh vegetables, perfectly cooked rice, and tender marinated beef, topped with a perfectly fried egg that added a creamy richness to every bite. The spicy pork bulgogi was a symphony of sweet and savory flavors, with a delightful kick of heat that left my taste buds dancing.
The portions at Yang Yum were generous, ensuring that I left satisfied and with enough leftovers to enjoy the next day. Every ingredient tasted incredibly fresh and high-quality, and it was evident that the chefs put their heart and soul into each creation.
The packaging was also noteworthy. Despite being takeout, the containers were sturdy and leak-proof, preserving the integrity of the food during transport. It was clear that Yang Yum valued presentation as much as taste, as each dish was beautifully arranged, even in a to-go box.
Whether you're a longtime fan of Korean cuisine or new to its delights, Yang Yum is a must-visit. It's a true testament to the rich culinary heritage of Korea, offering a delightful array of dishes that will satisfy your cravings and leave you longing for more. I can't wait to return to Yang Yum for another incredible...

My wife has a really strong taking to Korean food so she has been trying to get me to become acquainted with the food beyond just the grill/hibachi cuisine. We decided to check out this place located in something like a residency which was really different. I ended up getting the dosirak meal which I picked by selection of an image they had up on their menu screen. When we arrived at our place I honestly had my heart drop in my stomach. Seeing that there were about 7-8 chicken pieces (similar to nuggets) just sitting on top of the rice was a bit annoying. The worker did say that the chicken was cut up but I wasn't aware that it was going to be to that size for a $16 meal. Also, in my personal bias as a meat eater I tend to be more at peace when I see meat sitting on some sort of bone because of the ability for flavor to be fused with the meat which I saw none of. Nonetheless, as my wife continued to reassure me I proceeded on eating by drinking the miso soup- which was AMAZING! the kimchi cucumber was decent and the rice was also nicely made. As for the chicken despite its appearance it packed a big bite! I'm not such a fan for the sunnyside egg as it is per Korean cuisine so I appreciated their ability to fry the egg a bit more to my liking. My wife's bibimbop was alright but I found it a tad bit sweet which I am sure it is just a transition thing that I am personally going with meat. All in all I was definitely full which is always good and satisfied. I am still more of a kalbi Korean fanatic so I may learn towards that option next time but I have really learned that good things do come in...
Read moreDelicious and very affordable Korean food. Their menu is categorized into roll, rice, noodles and of course, their specialty, chicken. I've always loved Korean fried chicken due to it being crispy, spicy and tasty. I visited Korea a few years ago and their chicken there is the best, and I'm glad to be able to find something in the region that's able to replicate it well. Their version of Kimbap, with the cheese, is also great. It's a small stall inside the Waterloo Asian supermarket, so they only serve take out or delivery options (through certain delivery apps) but they prepare your food on the spot so it stays fresh and hot even after spending some time in your car. While the food is prepared (around 10-15 minutes if you order 1 type of food each in their 4 categories) you can browse through the supermarket aisles if you need to do some shopping. Servings are really generous for their price. Will...
