We have been loyal Beamsville Fish and Chips clients for roughly 3 years.... EVERY... SUNDAY... NIGHT!!! unless they are closed. Always order a 3 piece Haddock and Fries (this is the 3 pc we received last Sunday). We have always throughly enjoyed our meals there and would always recommend them. The past few weeks the fish has been horrible compared to what we have come to expect. Chips are always on point so cannot complain about them, but the fish portions have been 1/2 the size that we usually get and it is dry. You will notice that it is on a baking sheet as we have always heated them up after the kids have gone to bed and have never had a problem. We contacted them through messenger, and we did receive an instant response and it started out very positive as we were really only wanting them to know that their product was not meeting their normal standards. She asked us for the order and how we had paid so she could fix it the next day. I gave her the information and let her know that I had also added a tip as we always do for the kids working there. Her final question was what temperature did you heat it at? I told her that this was right out of the box and that we were not looking for a refund just to let them know incase they had changed recipes, suppliers, cooks, etc..... NO RESPONSE after that. Yes the food was disappointing for the last few weeks..... but customer service is more disappointing at this point. Now on the hunt for a new fish and chip joint.
Edit: After the response to this review : yes it was 11:18pm SUNDAY NIGHT... it is now Thursday night at 9:21pm (and only heard something back because I did a google review 1 hour ago) ... a simple message back to that interaction " thank you for your feed back and we will make sure to check into this" Maybe, "we appreciate your feedback... Feedback only makes us better."... I don't know something would have been nice.... after my last comment on messenger? Radio silence!
I was trying to be nice in my interaction with you as messages (constructive criticism) are always received that way better. Also, that was the reason to message you privately. I truly do not complain about much... so I was trying to let you know nicely. But apparently (as i have seen on previous reviews) you only seem to respond to negative reviews....It's a shame... I can post the whole message, you have seemed to cherry pick the message. "May I find out the order and how you paid so I can track this order down and get this fixed tomorrow". Read morePlaced an order on March 31 at 7:11 pm for the upcoming Good Friday. Employee took my order and gave me a pick up time of 5:35 pm. Went to pick the order up and as expected they were busy. With the current situation, I understood only letting one person in at a time to pick up and pay for their order. I waited for my name to be called and after being there for 20-25 mins without being called I asked the person working the door how long it would be for my order. I gave her my name and she came back and said there was no such order. I gave her my phone number and also what the order was, she came back again and said there was no such order. She then asked if I was sure I called the right business and I said yes. She then asked if I called the right location, I said yes. I found the time and day in my call log and was told "how do I know you placed an order that day?" REALLY? I came with a specific time, I'm sure I didn't make that up. And honestly to have that said to me is not good customer service. When I was looking for some sort of fix to this, I was told I would have to call and place an order and that the current pick up time was now 8:20...almost 3 hours later than my original order. This was an error on YOUR end and instead of trying to make good on it, you might as well have just called me a liar. I will add that it wasn't a big order, 3 piece haddock and fries and an order of pickles - just a bit over $30 so they could have fixed it. All their orders were behind at this point anyway. I will not order from here again because of the lack of customer service. I will note, reading the reviews here, any time there is a negative review, the person responding turns it around on the reviewer, taking very little ownership of the issue. I've been in customer service my whole life with a huge chunk of it at a management level. Never would I respond the way this business does to negative reviews!! You thank the customer for their review and for the opportunity to learn and grow...that's it. You not only have lost MY business but I will be sure to let all my friends and family know how I was treated and you will lose their business as well. Read moreWe ordered a 1 piece Haddock with Chips, a seafood platter with Chips (substituted Pollack with Haddock), 5oz Perch with chips AND Calamari (no chips so they knocked $2.00 off the original price of 21.55) The Haddock and seafood platter were enjoyed. The Perch was just ok at best. To much batter, the only flavours were batter and oil, but the portion was fair. What we REALLY need to talk about is the service, and the Calamari portion. So when I got home, I discovered two things. #1, they forgot the piece of Haddock that was to be with the seafood platter. Then, #2 I opened the package of Calamari to find what would be a portion of MAYBE a cup worth of small definitely overdone Calamari's. I called right of way. At first the person who answered the phone assured me his co worker packed the Haddock I then proceeded to tell him everything I pulled out of the bag (including me being very discriptive of the terrible Calamari). His solution was store credit for the next time I order. No thanks. I said Id be right back to get new Calamari and the Haddock owed to me. So now because of this mistake on there part Im eating a cold supper. After spending 91.00 I feel there should have been some compensation for these mistakes. Now, the Calamari, IT IS NOT WORTH IT, DO NOT BUY IT. The portion size is truly is no more than a cup worth of Calamari. You could seriously go to Boston Pizza, or Jack Astors or ANY chain resturant and get MORE Calamari for less of a price. Like I said the total for calamari and chips is $21.55 and i think you get $2.00 worth of Calamari and $19.00 worth of Chips.
