Larry's Chip Stand — Restaurant in West Nipissing

Was there yesterday around 2:30 Great atmosphere and service . Son’s cheeseburger was delicious.

Noticed previous persons order of fries to be very whiteish , not golden brown at all but thought maybe it’s the grease etc . Big crowd and was highly recommended.

Generous portion and lots of cheese curds that were very good , the sauce was good. But the fries were very disappointing , and I had to double take to ensure they were not frozen fries as some of them were stuck together and those were 3/4 cooked .I can honestly have up to 25-30 poutines a year , it’s my cheat of choice , I work out to justify my addiction and I’m now 55 .

Maybe just a bad day. , the restaurant wasn’t swamped , maybe we just missed the rush ? It’s not life and death I know but thought I should let you know in the most respectful and constructive...

I'm pretty sure my fries were undercooked as they were white ish and not really golden, my first bite tasted like water which was weird. I'm not entirely convinced that the poutine sauce was on point. The cheese curds were good. My bacon cheeseburger hamburger was acceptable, like it made the bar for a burger. But nothing really over the top. I'm pretty sure my bacon was missing and I don't recall tasting cheese. All in all, I don't know if this was just a fluke or if this is normal. My food came out pretty fast given what we ordered which might have more to do with everything. My partner's deep fried pickles though looked like they were made on point.

I would rate it more than 3 stars. But I can’t. I could rate it less, but I wouldn’t so that, due to the fact that Larry’s chipstand is my favourite. Although, my order from yesterday was incredibly dissapoiting, and my fault, I should have called them but I didn’t. I ordered myself a large poutine, after I got back home and opened up my bag with our food in it, they put my large poutine, in a medium container, inside a large container. Now I don’t see the reason why thy did that. I didn’t call and make them aware of the issue. But I paid for that large poutine and I got ripped off a little..... which is why you’re not getting 5 stars from me, and I might switch to ribs from...
