Hong & Sandy's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Wetaskiwin

I am fairly new to Wetaskiwin and I recently gave Hong & Sandy's a try because I often see lots of people picking up food. First, I want to state I am a very picky Chinese food eater. My Uncle used to be in the food business and the only place he would eat Chinese food is at LingNan in Edmonton. I am not going to Edmonton! I want quality food and I am willing to pay for it. I was not impressed with this food and 90% of it went in the garbage. I did eat 3 of the dry ribs, they were ok. I was unable to eat the plain rice as it wasn't cooked enough & wouldn't have agreed with me. Not only did the ginger beef not taste like ginger, but is was quite gristly and really turned me off. I tried 5-8 pieces and the rest went in garbage. The chicken balls were a lot of batter and although I did see white meat, I also seen clear meat, & I don't know what that is from. I will say the service was great and the portions were more than fair, I was just really disappointed that I had to throw most of it out. So I won't likely be back. I felt others need to know that at least one person didn't find the food to be of good quality...

These people epitomize the Chinese family restaurateur I always look for in small town Alberta. The food is always great. The service is really good. But the portions.... Wow awesome. The prices here are really fair and I think the value for your dollar is awesome! The Chinese food special is always good, and they are quick to get your food to you. The food was so good and servings were huge. I managed to eat a little over half of my order of Peking noodles and my leftovers filled a bigger sized take home container. My son used a bigger sized container for the meaty part of his leftover Combo# 3 and had to get a small container for his leftover rice.
