O'Brians Restaurant — Restaurant in Wetaskiwin

I thought I posted a 5 star review the day following my experience at the Best Western in Wetaskiwin, however, I don't see it, so perhaps I forgot. The top notch service, food and experience was certainly deserving of my time and effort to write a review, I am sorry it is a couple months late. I decided to come for Valentines day dinner and treat the 3 of us to a nice dinner. Me, myself and I had a lovely evening. Lol Seriously though, the food was amazing and there was a nice variety of items to chose from! I believe the meal was $30 and it included tea or coffee, but don't quote me on this, I am going from memory. Whatever I paid, it was really reasonable and because it was reasonable & delicious, my family is coming out to Wetaskiwin for their Mom's day celebration dinner! The only issue I had was with the peanut satay pork chop. Although delicious, about 3/4 of the way through it I realized it wasn't fully cooked, it was almost raw in the center. I advised the waitress and she apologized and said it was noticed and pulled immediately. I had no ill effects from eating it and was impressed with how the situation was handled. It was very impressive when we arrived. Very clean and well organized. Good presentation with the food on the salad bar. Good presentation with the lunch buffet. It was just before lunch rush. Thoughts were by the looks this place is going to be packed.

Never more than a handful of people and even fewer were eating. The salad bar did look good. Most of it was okay. Deviled eggs were rubbery.

Onto the mains... Presentation does not sell after eating the food. Not much of it was home made and what was had so much cilantro it was bitter.

The beef soup was good but the cream of chicken seemed a little off.

Wont do the buffet again but we will give the menu a try next time.

Very nice people wait staff was very kind but overly boastful...

I have eaten here three times. The first time was very good. The second time I took a large group of family for a birthday supper. steaks ordered med rare were blue rare. I thought oh well one off. A couple of months ago was treating more family members again. One had a completely vertically cracked glass of watery iced tea. One had salad bar that was inedible because it was so warm. Another had Caesar salad with steak strips, but the dressing was very off. Again the steaks were cooked wrong. I spoke to the waitress about all of these problems. She took the drinks off the bill. Thanks a lot 2 free iced teas, well one since one was served in a cracked glass and was undrinkable. My final bill for that fiasco was 170.00+ not going back again after being...
