Review of Tao’s kitchen
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Tao’s, and I can confidently say it was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the limited selection. It felt like there were only a handful of dishes available, and sadly, those that were there had clearly been sitting out for hours. Even under the heat lamps, the food was ice cold, which is never a good sign.
The only redeeming aspect of the meal was the five chicken balls that were brought out fresh. However, this minor highlight couldn’t make up for the overall lack of quality and variety. The dessert section was equally disappointing, with just three small pieces of pie and a couple of other desserts that looked unappetizing. The Jell-O was particularly unappealing, as it had a layer of water at the bottom, making it clear that it had been poorly prepared or stored.
Since moving to this town, I had been debating whether to try Tao’s for dinner, and I genuinely wish I hadn’t. It’s frustrating to see such potential wasted on what was supposed to be a delightful dining experience. I can’t recommend this place, and I’ll definitely be looking elsewhere for my Chinese food fix. Save your time and money—this is one...
Read moreMy aunt and I decided to go for a quick bit to eat, we were not hungry enough for the smorg which looked great. It was busy. I have a dairy, wheat and soy sensitivity. This was my second time visiting as the first time the chef came to my table to show me which foods I could eat as he did this time. I ordered special fried rice with mixed vegetables. The plate looked thrown together as last time it looked amazing. It did not taste as good because I was also eating with my eyes. I asked him to return the haphazard thrown together sauteed vegetables and chop them more finely instead of big mismatched pieces. They complied. The food tastes better after it was fixed as the veggies were fresh and not frozen. LESSON: If you want food not on the smorg when it is smorg come back when it is less busy so the chef can take the time to prepare your meal. I...
Read moreIt was really quiet, we were too early for the buffet so we debated leaving but we were greeted with smiles and water so we decided to look over the menu. We are happy we stayed.
The food was too notch (my favourite was the sweet and sour boneless pork, my daughter loved the Shanghai and my son loved his chicken and French fries) the war wonton was also exceptional! My daughter also loved her bubble tea!!
The prices were very good, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was awesome, I am honestly shocked this place only has 4 stars!!
Give this place a try, you won't be...
