I dont know if anyone else has gotten sick from this place lately. I have. I bought the Brisket Hat Trick sub. While I was eating it, I remember saying "ugh" when I took a bite--like something tasted off. I put the rest aside, thinking to eat it later. When i went to it the next day, I didn't feel right about eating it again. Something about it was off. I decided I I take it back to Firehouse Subs on Taunton, in Whitby. I spoke with the franchise owner about the incident and mentioned that it gave me diaherra for 2 days. I said I paid over $20 for the sub, and I think I should get my money back. He said absolutely not because I bought it 3 days ago. I said I was sick with diaherra for 2 days. My thought is if you are incapacitated, is it wise to drive? The only thing on my mind when im sick is how do i get better. Here I am, 6 days later and I can't walk without pain. I'm constantly going to the bathroom, I am in constant pain and may need to head to the hospital today. I just cannot believe that this franchise owner will not be held accountable for giving me what my family believes is food poisoning. This is my only platform to warn others to go there at your own risk. Any place of business you purchase from has the responsibility of giving you something that works and/or does not make you sick. A place of business that does not have a head office or anyone to hold them accountable for their actions should not be in business in Canada. I almost forgot, the pickle was really gross. Soggy and warm with a...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I came here to grab a early dinner. We arrived around 4pm on a Saturday place was empty with the exception of 2 couples sitting and eating. We ordered 2 large steak and cheese subs, to go. I ordered mine with veggies his with just lettuce and sautéed mushrooms and hot sauce. We got home our subs were both cold, mind you we live minutes away from this establishment, he had veggies he did not ask for on his sandwich, there was no hot sauce either. I was about halfway through my first half of the sub when I pulled out a long black hair out of the meat on my sub. We were so disgusted we lost our appetite and threw the food in the garbage. We called the store and the manager promised to make it better if we came back, we declined the offer for more food as we won’t be back there to eat again. We asked for a refund and the manager agreed to that. Customer service was good but very disappointed with the quality of the food. This was the second time we have had food from this establishment the first time we order from a food delivery service and...
Read moreI was originally going to rate 2 stars but after reading the other poor reviews, I had to knock off another 1. I hate giving poor reviews but man, this place needs to get it together.
I was the only person ordering, took ten minutes to get served. Very simple order - club on whole wheat with datil sauce.
First sandwich - no meat. Trainee made it and completely fumbled. No big deal, we all start somewhere.
Remake sandwich - no bacon, no datil sauce, on white bread. Huh?? I didn't want to risk whatever disaster was awaiting me for sub #3 so I just ate it.
As the others said - save the headache and go to Oshawa where the competent people are. I've had 20+ subs from Oshawa Firehouse made to perfection, zero errors. Both sandwiches here weren't even close to my order.
If the owner reads this, you need to shake things up here. Unresponsive staff who can't make the simplest sandwiches. 16 dollars later and I'm writing this review. That's not value, that's not service - that is...
