Panera Bread — Restaurant in Whitby

Hi,

Recently I went to Panera Bread Whitby, Ontario, with my family. All of us were really excited because we live far away and wanted to have an experience of breakfast at Panera. When we got there and wanted to place an order most of the display shelves with the baked goods and bagels were empty. I would also like to point out that we went at breakfast time and you would think they would have these food items ready and baked freshly in advance...It was an anticlimax for us. The items that were available did not look fresh at all including what we ordered.

The hot drinks including a latte and coffee were not properly brewed, not the right temperature and made properly. Anyways, to make it short none of the staff seemed very apologetic about it and we have decided not to go there next time. When the quality and freshness of food as well as good customer service deteriorates and is compromised this is the start of the downfall of a successful business. So please pay attention to this matter and these things because this particular location used to be a very good place to go. I would also like to add that because of the stale bakery item one of my family members had an upset stomach and diarrhea...

Left extremely disappointed today from panera with what I thought would be a really simple order. We got a single smoothie and 2 bagels for takeout and it took over 20 minutes (yes, I actually timed it this is not an exaggeration) and they didn’t even come out properly. We asked for one bagel to be buttered and one with cream cheese… we were handed two dry bagels (that had started to burn) with the butter and cream cheese in the bag despite specifically asking for them to be on. We were on a road trip today and it’s not really feasible to be trying to put butter/cream cheese on in the car. When I asked the girl to put it on (again, we did ask ahead of time) I got an eye roll and she buttered one side of the bagel and cream cheese on one side of the other bagel, both half dry. I said thank you have a good day when she handed the bag back and I got silence and a dirty look. The smoothie had massive chunks of ice which made it difficult to drink. For the price point of buying food here I was annoyed by the laziness and the reaction. I get they were busy but I didn’t think the request was unreasonable. Next time I’ll just go to Cobbs bread like I should’ve in...
