I wanted to try this place because I think it's important to support local businesses. I saw the mixed reviews and said what the hell, let's give it a try anyways.
Much to my chagrin, the negative ads seem to be the truthful ones.
Here's a list of all the things that I didn't like about my meal ( that cost me $75)
The food was he there overdone, IE the broccoli or undercooked IE the General Tao chicken.
In this day and age they don't have any kind of debit at the door and when I went to the store to pick it up and use my debit card I was charged extra for the privilege.
As I was buying dinner for a family of 5, I asked for five sets of chopsticks. The proprietor then try to charge me a dollar set which I respectfully declined.
The signature dishes didn't taste anything like I've had before specifically the General Tao chicken dish and the Shanghai noodles. The General Tao chicken was orange and slimy and the Shanghai noodles skinny and tasteless.
As much as I enjoy paying for the privileged of eating tasteless and overcook food I will not be eating at this establishment again.
TL:Dr bad food, bad service,...
Read moreI would expect that when you order dishes and tell the person that takes your order that you Don't want shrimp because of allergies and that the last time you ordered and said the same thing , They put shrimp in anyway , not only the last order but on the current order. I feel the response when you call isn't argue with me but to replace dish with what was ordered and payed for. Instead I got A rushed "next time dish free " . well what about know ? What if I hadn't noticed the shrimp in the dish ? What makes them think I will order again after the second time providing me with an allergy ridden dish that I asked for the second time NO SHRIMP PLEASE BECAUSE OF ALLERGIES . The potential health risk and the cost of this wasted dish and scrambling to add something else to the menu for supper surely makes me look else where to order take out. I have been buying ordering from this location for three years and gave the benefit of doubt when the chicken balls where grease laden and the first shrimp mess up but this is the second time for this potentially dangerous miss cooked order . No apology and in my opinion a unacceptable...
Read moreWas Ok. Probably won't try again.
Egg roll - pretty good. Crispy. A little bland.
Wonton soup - pretty good. A little overdone so wonton dough was falling apart and BBQ pork slices were over-cooked.
Cantonese chow mein (got it "lo mein" though) - was ok. Good news is that the portion was huge. Lots of noodles, lots of chicken, some shrimp and pork. Lots of celery. Didn't care for the sauce. Chicken and shrimp were good, BBQ pork was a bit overdone and dry. Broccoli and celery were nice and crispy. Snow peas were overdone/dry.
Overall, was ok. I got enough food that I could enjoy 3 meals. Ultimately only ate it twice and threw the rest out. The food gave me extreme bloating and gas, which I don't get from Chinese food I've gotten at other restaurants.
Not trying to bash this place, the portions were good and food was ok, but I'd rather order from a place that doesn't cause this kind of reaction in me. Not sure what ingredient...
