Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House — Restaurant in Whitby

We went there for an early breakfast on father's day 2023 instead we had lunch. We excepted the place to be very busy. I put our name on the waiting list the host said about a 30 minute wait, I repeated what she said, her body language and her reply made it sound like yea, about that. As we were waiting I realize that the restaurant was under staff for being father's day. A table of 6 outside sat dirty for over 20 minutes, tables in the dinner room sat dirty for about10 minutes. Customers on 2 occasion that I notice had to get up from there table and ask the host for there check, other tables that were finished were looking around, I'm guessing to get there server attention to pay. There was a long waiting list, behind me and also in front of me. We finally sat down after 1 hour and 20 minutes of waiting. That table of 6 that remain dirty, a couple sat down, someone from the restaurant clean the table and gave them menus. I wish I would of been so bold to sit down. Once seated we order immediately, the food took 35 minutes, it was excepted on a busy day. The food was great, the service was great. My review is to the manager/management for being under staff and not being prepared on a day that they knew was going to be one of the busiest days of the year and also to the host who had no idea how to judge seating time. Management get half star. Host gets other half.

So I will provide my experience along with my husband’s.. Stacked Pancake and breakfast house! We arrived early Sunday afternoon, it was packed and busy as ever and a pretty happy vibe 😊 from what we could see. The staff were very busy running around, we spoke to the hostess and there was a wait time… we had to wait about 10mins which was fine as it was so busy. When we got to our seats the waitress informed us immediately that there was going to be a bit of a longer wait as they were short staffed. As we see it!!! When staff call in sick or whatever the reasons.. it really messes with the flow of the other staff that have to pull their own weight and the missing persons. There were two people missing from their shifts! They work hard from what We could tell.👏👏👏👏👏👏 So we ordered our coffees and sat chatted .. which was nice as the kids all around us were well behaved and the little boy that sat kiddy corner from me kept smiling 🙂 at me. So are food arrive hot and it was a good size portion as we were both full after.😋 As well our waitress checked in on us quite a bit to top up our coffee ☕️. So now comes the bill.. for two full size breakfast of one with pancakes , the other with waffles, sausage, bacon, eggs, coffee, Orange juice. It was actually pretty reasonable around $30 plus we gave the young waitress a pretty good tip. So we have been there 4/5 times and have always been satisfied. Good Food Reasonably priced …...

Stacked is our new fave brekkie place! Went Saturday morning and it was busy. Waited maybe 10 mins after leaving our names at the front desk. Well worth the wait! Pretty big place, clean and patrons spread out. We saw workers constantly spraying and wiping down seats, menus, and table items such as salt/pepper, ketchup bottles and syrup dispeners. Huge selection of food items from pancakes and waffles to french toast and hash. We ordered the Meatlovers and Pancake Stack with upgraded pancakes to Cinnabun. Our server was lovely and jovial and made us excited for our food. We were very specific when ordering and they cooked everything perfectly! We ordered bacon and potatoes extra crispy and they were amazing with no burnt taste. Eggs were cooked a perfect over medium, which has never happened before; they always end up over hard or too runny, but these were exactly over medium, impressive! The sausage was delicious and the rye bread with their homemade strawberry jam is amazing! Most memorable item was the Cinnabun pancake! Wow! Never tasted anything like it and am now addicted. Was so delicious and I didn't even use syrup, but dunked it in the whipped cream, so good! Best part is the crunchy bits, yummm! Personally for me, the coffee was rather weak, but plentiful.
