On December 11, 2021, we visited our regular Tim Hortons and placed a drive through order for a Small French Vanilla and a Large Double Double. When we pulled up to the drive through window to collect our order, the young man serving us gave us only the Small French Vanilla. I asked for our second drink and repeated the order. It's unclear who he was speaking to but he says, "that's for this car too?" and charges my credit card again. I collect my drink and say thank you as I'm putting it in my cup holder. He then says, "take care to you too". I looked at him and asked him what he said. He repeated the same. I asked him, what's with the attitude? He said something and the word "bro". I asked to speak to his manager. He says "she's right here" and yells "Ruth! Ruth! Come here. This guy doesn't want to leave". The manager came, we began explaining what happened but the young man was still present and was interjecting. The manager had to close the drive through window, send away the employee and then continued speaking to us. We explained to her our experience and why it was very unprofessional. The manager told me to not take "bro" the wrong way when I told her I'm not his "bro". I've been served by this employee in the past and every time, the service isn't professional and what a customer should expect. But, today, was the worst! He conducts himself in a manner as if he is untouchable. His behavior and the way he called his manager was unprofessional. Despite explaining our side of events, we don't know if the manager fully understood and appreciated how unprofessional the behavior of this employee was. My first job was at Tim Hortons. I worked in every role in the restaurant and was trained to be a professional and always provide excellent customer service. This employee behaves in a manner without professionalism and accountability to the company he works for and the customer. On another occasion in the past, he told my wife she's very beautiful, again during a drive through order. We looked past it then but our experience today was unneccessary and very unprofessional. He may have had a bad day or is unhappy with his job, life, etc. but for him project his frustration onto a customer is very unprofessional. It also seems there isn't proper training or if there is, it certainly isn't being followed by...
Read moreEITHER YOUR STAFF DONT CARE OR YOU NEED TO TRAIN ALL YOUR STAFF THE SAME. CONSISTENCY IS KEY.
Also, you may want to educate your staff of customer service. I get that you are a busy store, but that is no excuse to have your staff rush around and drop basic customer service etiquette. Stop having such a terrible work environment that management and more experienced workers yell, in front of customers, at people in training because they don't know what they are ding, etc.Toxic. Stop throwing straws, tim bit boxes, etc on the counter and walking away with an angry look on your face. Stop ignoring customers when they thank you. Stop getting mad at customers when they correct the mistake you made with their order. Stop getting mad at older people because they can't hear well and need your to repeat yourself. Stop just walking past customers who have been waiting in the front for you to take their order for 5+ minutes while you talk in the back or have 6 people on drive through, without so much as a "Someone will be right with you". Stop making drinks incorrectly, just because a customer gave you trouble after you gave them attitude about them correcting you for putting in the wrong order. Stop letting inexperienced employees make things they have no idea how to and giving them out, without someone experienced making sure they did it right. Stop putting customers change on the counter, instead of their hand, without saying the total or even acknowledging them , and then quickly walking away, maybe I wanted receipt? Soo rude, I would literally come everyday, but the way your staff make customers feel like they are causing an issue by just ordering,...
