Extremely Disappointing Experience - Avoid this Location Unpleasant Experience and Dismissive Staff

My recent visit to Papa John's for our family's bimonthly pizza night turned out to be a shockingly disappointing experience, not only due to the poor quality of the pizza but also because of the unsatisfactory and dismissive response from the staff, particularly what I believe to be the owner.

Burnt Pizza with Overpowering Smell: Upon arriving home with our order, one of the two pizzas we ordered had an overwhelming burnt smell. It was evident that the pizza was overcooked, and this was immediately apparent upon opening the box. The unmistakable burnt smell was overpowering, and it was clear that the pizza had been cooked well beyond an acceptable point.

Crumbling Crust: The crust of the burnt pizza was not just burnt but also crumbled upon touch, making it nearly impossible to eat. It was disheartening to receive a pizza with such an obvious lack of attention to quality.

Falling Apart: Attempting to pick up a slice of the burnt pizza resulted in a mess as it disintegrated in my hands. This level of quality is unacceptable for a pizza chain that prides itself on its standards.

Unhelpful Customer Service: Upon calling the store to explain the situation, the staff's initial response was dismissive, claiming that this is how their pizzas are made. Only after persistent complaints did they reluctantly agree to remake our order.

Owner's Denial: When I arrived to pick up the remade pizza and compared it to the original, I was astonished by the owner's response. Despite clear and obvious differences and even as the original pizza fell apart in his hand, he audaciously insisted that both pizzas were the same. Even as he picked up the original burnt pizza and it fell apart in his hand, he continued to deny the discrepancy. This lack of accountability was both surprising and disappointing.

Conclusion: The combination of a poorly made pizza and the staff's refusal to acknowledge the issue left me deeply dissatisfied. I strongly advise against visiting this location. Considering the current economic climate and the abundance of pizza options, it's worth driving to the MARKHAM location or exploring alternatives. Save your money, time, and taste buds for a more worthwhile pizza experience elsewhere. The owner also didn't seem to care that they were going to be losing a customer and even as I was leaving the store said, "its ok we...

Alright, Papa John’s, listen up because this nonsense needs to be addressed. I placed an order online for pickup, thinking I'd save time. But when I arrive at the store at the scheduled time, I'm told by the guy in the kitchen to wait another 10 minutes.

I double-check with him, and he confirms the wait time. Fine, I'll wait. But when I return, not only is my order still not ready, but this genius has been preparing orders for people who walked in after I arrived. Are you joking? What kind of backwards logic is that? Do online or call-in customers get a discount for this absurd treatment? No, they bloody well don’t.

Your staff's rudeness and unprofessionalism are shocking. Treating online customers like second-class citizens is completely unacceptable. The guy in the kitchen might be overwhelmed, but prioritizing walk-ins over pre-orders is just idiotic.

Papa John’s, get your act together. Train your staff properly to handle online orders and treat all customers with respect. This kind of shoddy service is a disgrace and needs to change immediately. Fix it, or you'll keep losing customers who are fed up with...

Pls check your receipts.

Today is feb 15, 2025, the last day of the government’s no hst on restaurant purchases…and it looks like this place does not know this and has been charging tax.

I ordered a medium pizza which was supposed to be $9.99. When i picked up my order, i paid $11.30 not realizing i got charged hst on my order until i got home.

When i called the place back and told them about this, the cashier, first told me that the no hst ended feb 14. I told her that is not true. Then she said it was machine issue. So i asked if the store has been charging tax all day to all of its customers? I was met with dead silence.

When i asked to whom am i speaking with, she said “cashier”. I was stunned. “Your name is cashier?” i asked.

Anyways, they said they cannot issue me a refund.

I know its small money but it is the principle that i find it strange that they wouldn’t go the extra step to rectify...

This franchise is cheeping out. Yeah I understand inflation and all but its for everyone. Ordered pizza see pictures attached. One was grilled chicken another was onion. Can anyone see the toppings? Also the box mentions Garlic Sauce and pepperoncini and they would not give it even though you ask for it. Really can you be so cheap as a business?? Never going again to get ripped. It was better off closed for months the previous owner at least would not cheap out this way!!

My husband ordered pizza from here after rave reviews on Stouffville Bulletin but this has to be the worst pizza we've ever had. Lrg with 3 toppings (extremely stingy on toppings, where are the mushrooms?) and tax, $27 and it's completely atrocious. Order a better quality pizza from Pizza Napoli for the same price.
