Always a pleasure coming to this place! Another hidden gem if you miss it! It's like, right at a corner! Once you find it, you won't be disappointed! I always look forward to buying their coffee beans for my coffee machine as well as grabbing a pick-me-up before I leave the store! Super affordable and love the consistency of how they make their coffee! I highly recommend their most popular condensed milk velvet sunrise coffee! They can be super accommodating too with milk alternatives and how you would take your coffee (half-sweet, honey or sugar, lactose-free...etc). The barista is always a pleasure to talk to and doesn't mind chatting with you even after you received your order(s). It's a coffee roaster so it's not taking dine-in customers or anything since COVID, but that's okay! Great place to get freshly roasted coffee beans. Usually I go there every 1-2 months and pick up a few different ones. Since switching almost exclusively to this shop a few years ago I can say that the quality has always been consistently high.

They mostly sell to restaurants but whenever I drop by their Stouffville location see other people buying beans there. It is possible to order from their web site too, or at least check what is available.

You can also get a cup made for you there as they have a professional espresso machine.

Depending on the kind of coffee I sometimes fiddle with how fine or coarse I grind it or try different brewing method. This coffee should not be mixed with any milk cream or sugar. It is too good for that and as it cools it develops more and more...

During COVID, I’d just moved into town. I was waiting in line at a coffee shop, when the guy next to me strikes up a conversation. He tells me the beans at this busy coffee shop are from a place called Velvet Sunrise, also in town. I had to check it out because the coffee was really good at this particular place. Long story short, velvet is the best! I no longer go to the other coffee place.

I come here for my bi-weekly roasted bean pickup (I have a fancy machine at home), a cappuccino when I’m lazy, and sometimes a snack. The lady who works there sometimes makes the most delicious baked treats.

It’s a hidden gem of a place that I hope will be there forever. Reminds me I need to go support them and stock up...
