The regulars may not appreciate my comments as the Five Corners Café is already a pretty busy place, but I think it is one of the best breakfast places I’ve ever been to. I love the fact that it is a classic family run cafe that means they care about the food and their customers. The breakfast we had; a Spanish omelette and Huevos Rancheros, were some of the best versions I have ever seen, and the flavours were authentic. The coffee seems bottomless as my son and I sat there for over an hour and the waitress just kept topping us up. I understand it has a cadre of loyal regulars and I understand why. It is what we all want in a local café: great food, good coffee, and a cozy place to hang out with family and friends. You know a place has a loyal following when there is a wall of longtime customers’ photos on the wall. I will be back soon, and hope to become a loyal fan.

Got the burger and fries, my partner got toasted tuna fish sandwich with hash browns\ pan fries.. the burger was tasteless and about 1/3 the size of the bun .. an insult of lettuce and Tomato for $19.00 … we both were very embarrassed ..(also the older waitress just couldn’t stop talking to people and overtook every conversation in the whole place. ) and the tuna was put on bread and dressed with miracle whip with questionable lettuce.. It’s too bad this place could be really good.

Five stars for atmosphere because this quirky corner café has been here forever, and I like the unique style very much. The five stars for food are because the burger was one of the best I've had in North America and eclipsed really only by one I had in Paris last year (not a fair comparison because they can cook it rare in France but not here, by law). And the service was perfect. They were extremely busy today it being Saturday, but everyone got attention.

On Sunday July 7th, 2019 my spouse and I went to Five Corners Cafe for breakfast at about 1 o'clock in the afternoon. When we came in the place was pack and there was a group of 5 people for a table before us. The young waitress told us to sit at the counter until there would be a table available. I asked the waitress if we could have a coffee at the counter until a table would be available. She give us our coffee then an older waitress told us there was no table available because there was a group of four that came after us and they were waiting for the next table. The older waitress asked us if we wanted to order at the counter and I told her we would be waiting to order until a table would be available. The group of 5 were already sitting at a table of four but were waiting for a larger table to come available in order to be more comfortable. Then when the group of 5 people moved to a table with 6 seats, then there was 3 tables of four available. The older waitress finally decided to sit us at a table but she did not served us, the younger waitress did. When my spouse went to pay the bill the older waitress told my spouse she did not like me telling her how to do her job but I never told her that. My spouse and I have been at Five Corners Cafe various times and always enjoyed the service and the food but today the service of that older waitress was awful. My spouse and I will never go back to Five Corners Cafe after the way we were treated by this...

This place is an absolute staple in the White Rock Community. Every time I've been here I've felt as though I was eating a home-cooked meal. The food is simple, affordable but absolutely delicious - as every 50's diner worth its salt should be! The prices on the menu include the taxes and given the very generous portions really feel like a bargain (especially compared to other local breakfast/lunch places). The cash only policy only adds to the 50's vibe while also being a way of keeping prices low and affordable to patrons (it may not be general knowledge but those little debit machines cost businesses a ton)!

Whether I'm there just to have a comforting cup of joe, or to have a hearty meal of home made soups, burgers, chili and vast number of other menu options. This family owned and operated spot is a nod to simpler times, when you could put your feet up, chat with your neighbors and enjoy a hot meal without the exhaustion of social media, apps or touch menus.

The staff that are kind, inclusive, and so so so supportive of the community - which makes me keep coming back. This is the kind of place where everyone would love to become a regular - and you can absolutely become one yourself by just stopping by. Every time you arrive you'll be greeted with a smile and endless comfort - so put your phone down, relax, and love simpler life for a bit - before you know it'll you'll feel like you're part...

I came here because of the HIGH ratings, and what's better than being an American inside an American restaurant in Canada, right?

First of all, decor was excellent. I'm a photographer, and I had no idea that this place is covered in portraits and old cameras. I basically checked out everything in the restaurant while waiting for my food.

The service though, not so great. I ordered a coffee to start, which was super bland and tasteless. Then I ordered a vanilla milkshake, which had way too much milk and was watered down and had no taste of vanilla. I wanted to ask for water, but neither of the servers paid attention to me. Worst of all, they never checked on me to refill the coffee or to ask how the food was.

As for the food, I had the shrimp melt. It was one of the more expensive items on their menu, and surprisingly, they used Kraft cheese. In case you didn't know, Kraft cheese is "fake" cheese, so you'd want to look it up to see what it actually is.

Side note - this restaurant...
