Inconsistent Quality is the verdict so far! The first pizza I had from them was incredibly good. A light crispy crust that really brought all the fresh flavours forward and I was really blown away. That one was a Funghi with bacon added. My family was also extremely impressed and were moved to order from them since then, each being pretty tasty but there is a risk of the larger ones getting soggy if you can't pick them up promptly it seems.
This most recent pizza that I ordered as a copy of my first seems to be missing the garlic and the bottom is burnt tasting. The toppings look beautiful but it's hard to enjoy them when the burnt flavour is permeating it. For a small $20+ pizza that is a really frustrating thing to experience. I can understand them not wanting to waste ingredients, but I also don't want to waste money that feels like a risk if it's going to turn up like this. Just a fair warning that perhaps depending on who's working the results might cost you.
What's almost funny is that I went to them after family burnt the dinner here and I wasn't up for it. What a bummer! Based on other reviews it seems they don't have a good policy towards replacing pizzas or issuing refunds. I have no problem personally with a bit of charred crispy bits from the stone baking process, but something that burned in this case is overwhelming the overall taste that hasn't been a problem before. Maybe a burned oil or something that was off, I couldn't say. All I can say is that it is absolutely not like that wonderful pizza I...
Read moreUnfortunately disappointing. The pizza was 15 mins past 1 hour but that's alright, we understand it's busy.
Upon arrival, half of one pizza was burned and the other pizza was completely stiff from overcooking. For $50, one would expect a more careful process. After calling, they were great about replacing the pizzas, just asked that I sent a couple photos in, which I did. I was then called back to say they won't remake them, as they are fine and there's nothing they can do. I spoke with the manager who was unfortunately very curt and seemed upset that I had an issue with burned pizza. She informed me that some people like their pizza crispy and if I don't want it that way I have to ask in advance....having traveled all over Italy, I can confidently say, nobody cooks any sort of Italian pizza burned and stiff. Nobody.
After having to unfortunately argue my case, she agreed to replace...one of the two burned pizzas. This replacement pizza was also 15 mins late. Also half burned. If it's supposed to be a certain consistency shouldn't it be so on both halves of the pizza? Some responsibility should be taken for at least a very uneven cooking process. Photo is of the replacement pizza.
Perhaps their oven is to blame, but what really prompted the review was the way in which I had to argue to get a decent pizza, which sadly never arrived. The second star is an appreciation that they at least remade half my order. For the price especially, I wouldn't look here for...
Read moreThis was formerly a five star review for their authentic thin crust. I’m writing this review as my oven heats up to finish cooking the food I ordered.
Today I called in an order at 6:00PM and was told my pepperoni pizza would be ready for pickup in an hour. I showed up at 6:55PM and asked to pay for my pizza and stated that I was still a few minutes early. A lady in the back yelled to the front that the pizza for me was scheduled to be ready for 7:05PM. I asked to pay early, did so (more than $28), and waited at the tables outside and listened to an audio book. I came back inside the store front at 7:09PM. I received my pizza at 7:15PM. I walked out of the store, feeling the box was not warm, took a look inside to see a par-baked pizza. I went inside and asked if my pizza was baked for the normal amount of time, the staff said, and I quote, “It SHOULD be…” and smiled.
I won’t pay nearly $30 for a regular pepperoni pizza and wait an hour for a par-baked pizza, when you can get the same thing half-price, in under 30 minutes from dominos, fully cooked.
Ridiculous that a human being, when offered the chance to make it right, instead gave a snarky response that my food SHOULD be cooked. That’s not something a restaurant should be sorta...
