Mr. Chu Tea & Coffee — Restaurant in White Rock

A great place for bubble tea. Their selection offers a variety of different choices for every mood and all taste great and very fresh! The slushes are a favourite especially in the hotter summer months, but the tea options are also a great default. The service is exceptional, the staff are friendly, welcoming and super helpful. One of the guys at the register always offers exceptional service!

The storefront is a modern simple aesthetic, the space isn't too big for seated options, there's a few tables and seats inside, and a bench outside but is located in a good spot you can definitely find somewhere nearby if it's a crowded day. The area is very nice and offers a good environment, across the Emilio Finetta plaza, couple of shops on Thrift Ave, and close by to White Rock Beach if you want to take your drinks to go.

My favourites are the pineapple, strawberry, or mango slush. For teas, my go to is the triple with pearls, pudding, and grass jelly in milk tea, or a pine-passion fruit tea with pearls or coconut jelly. I also like getting my drinks at 30% sugar and I find it's just the right amount...

These guys deserve an award. You'd think there's only so much you can do with bubble tea but this establishment has taken a simple drink to the next level.

I came around closing time so they were out of their special brown sugar pearls that I've heard so many good things about. I settled for the taro and pudding milk tea instead.

I was going to add jelly to it like I normally do (which would have had an extra cost) but the server actually advised me against it because the pudding already added a similar texture.

To me, that shows they cares about what they sell over a small add on bonus.

The pudding with the taro was bliss. I wasn't expecting there to be real pudding in the drink but there was. It was an amazing combination that had the perfect balance of texture and sweetness.

Each of their flavours seems to have a creative twist and something to make it more elegant.

I love the ambience of this place and the service is great too. The sitting area is a tad small but you're close to the beach so it's all good.

Is recommend this as a solid bubble tea...

BEST PLACE FOR BUBBLE TEA EVER.

I spend most of my days off here at Mr. Chu Tea & Coffee, and I've personally tried more than half of the items on the drinks menu. The quality of the tea is better than most tea cafe I've had throughout my lifetime, and one thing that sets this amazing place apart from all other places: the passion of the owner can be tasted in the tea. The owner, Mr. Chu--not me, put his heart into every drinks he made. Some of the drinks might sound similar to other tea cafe, but I guarantee that the wholeheartedness is beyond. The pearls were carefully crafted and prepped, and the brown sugar in the drinks is the alluring secret. Additionally, the two types of sandwich available, Chicken and Seafood, are ones of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Unfortunately, these are only available on a slow day--which is becoming more rare.
