We just went to restaurant around 9:30 . First they didnât greet us . Then the server started taking our order and i repeated my order 2-3 times to her , i get it that itâs really difficult to remember the big order ., but even after repeating so many times, they served us wrong food and then she picked the food quickly and said sorry , thatâs not your food. Apart from this , we ordered just one appetizer as well but they started serving us the main course first , then i said that i guess appetizer should be served first , not the main course. After that we had to wait for another half an hour to get the food. Finally the food came in and the quality and quantity is really poor in comparison to the high price. Then , they forgot to give us our drinks and didnât even ask about the drinks once . But we we talked to their manager after eating all the food , she listened us and gave us 20% off on the total bill . I appreciate that but the customer service and food quality is really really bad. I wonât recommend this restaurant to anyone ever in my life . With this restaurant, i had really high expectations, but in realityâs everything is zero. They need to teach their severs some manners that how to serve a customer and greet them. I know that you guys will give me reply back and wonât consider your mistake and just say that we gave you discount at the end. Honestly, so disappointed with...
Read moreAs local WR residents, my husband and I were very excited to try this new restaurant on Marine Drive and were hoping it would become a regular option for us. We went on a busy fireworks night (Sea Festival) and the restaurant was packed. The good included tasty fish tikka and our exceptionally friendly and apologetic waiter, Vibhav. Vibhav was absolutely wonderful - the owner should invest in this young man and provide him training on the wine/drinks menu. The bad: food took forever to come out (over 30 minutes for appetizer), staff has no clue on the wine menu (we sent back wine at least 3 times as it was incorrect). Our mains of butter chicken and paneer bhurji tasted awful - they both had this strange yogurt flavour and the chicken was overdone and maybe even expired. I had to run to an outhouse on the walk home and my stomach exploded, it still hurts this morning. There are sooo many feelings great Indian food options, we havenât had this negative a taste in as long as we can remember. Overall, itâs too bad as this restaurant has a great view and potential but it was a waste of $200+ for us and we will not return unless the chef or recipes change. I wish Roots of Punjab success, with a few key changes I think it can be...
Read moreCould have given them a 5-star rating if I was reviewing them 5-6 months ago. But these days their service and quality of food are getting worse day by day. Last month we ordered white sauce pasta and 2 kulad chai. Pasta was barely enough for one person (less than half a bowl). And chai was without sugar and only Splenda packets on the side. When I asked them for sugar for our chai, they said they were out of sugar. Also, the chai was ice cold. It looked like they made it in the freezer, not on the burner. Today, we ordered just 2 kulad chai again for takeout, and she said it will take 10-15 minutes. But, she brought it in just 2-3 minutes, and no surprise, it was without sugar again (with Splenda on the side). When I asked for sugar again, she said they are out of sugar. Like seriously!!! You guys are running a restaurant, and you are out of sugar from the last couple of months. Also, chai was again ice cold. Just a suggestion for you guys: please rename it from kulad chai to iced chai with Splenda for the sake of customers. We literally drove from Abbotsford to White Rock during midnight to have refreshing chai and walk, and guess what? That iced cold chai...
