Today I have decided to leave a review for Boston Pizza Whitehorse. The reason is that today I had the worst service I’ve ever had.
Let’s get the basic stuff out of the way. The food here is fine. If you’ve been to Boston Pizza anywhere else the food will probably be the same or similar. It’s good, but limited.
Now for the service.
Previously I’ve had wonderful service there, but today was just something else. Here’s the story: we went for a joined birthday dinner (2 people’s birthdays). We had a party of 6, but one person came a bit late. Our server was nice at first, and took our orders down fine, and we got our first plates just fine. Then when our sixth person came her food didn’t arrive until we were almost ready to leave, and the order was wrong. It turns out that the server just never put the order through, and when she put it back through she messed the order up. One of us asked for a drink multiple times but it never came. As soon as we brought up that out order was wrong the server got really confrontational and was like “would you like to speak to my manager?” And we were like “no, we would just like our food” Then when the bill came our items were mixed up. We asked for her to correct the bills, but she came back with bills that were more wrong (one of the bills that was completely correct had changed). After waiting for a really long time, and more than one wrong bill we began discussing whether we should just pay what was on the receipts and pay each other back. At this point I want to point out that it takes a lot for me to leave a bad review. I understand that people have bad days, and I’ve had positive experiences there before. But when she came back again, and our bill was still wrong she got super upset and was like “you’re just going to have to pay at the front because you’re not working with me and you can talk to my manager if you want”. Again, maybe she was having a bad day, but we were nothing but polite to her and just wanted our bills to be correct. We went to the front to pay, and thank goodness we had a different person at the register because she checked us out really fast. It really threw me off when she flipped and told us to talk to her manager if we had a problem. I understand getting a wrong order. It happens all the time, and it’s fine as long as it’s corrected. Pulling the manager card right away was wild to me though. Hope she sorts...
Read moreThis place is zero for two for me in terms of smooth dining experiences. I like their food and the staff are nice but seemingly not properly trained to deal with situations where things go slightly off script. I actually would go here regularly for if it wasn't an inexplicably challenging ordeal to simply buy some food and drink.
First time I went, I had pulled up my online BP account and the app explicitly told me there was a promo where I'd get free cactus cut potatoes with a beer at the restaurant. Great, I love their cactus cuts! Except after I arrived and ordered, their system wouldn't recognize the promotion. The staff's response was to repeatedly question me about it, obtain my account info and the promo number and examine my phone with the info four of five times, try to physically take my phone from me and walk to the show it to the manager, and then (when I objected to that) have the manager come over and repeat the same interrogation. Neither the server nor the manager had a rude tone or anything, and eventually they did just comp the cactus cuts. But (as I explained to them at the time) although I appreciated that their tone was polite at least, I was frustrated that attempting to redeem a promotion that was actively advertised to me resulted in me being relentlessly grilled over this for about 20 minutes and treated like I was trying to scam them out of an appetizer.
I enjoyed the food, and it seemed like they were nice enough people who just exercised some poor judgement when there were tech issues, so I gave them another chance. I tried to order takeout online and the website failed three times in a row. I then went there in person, and when I tried to pay my bill with a QR code on the table, it failed. I then paid the server instead. All 4 of the failed charges appeared as pending charges on my credit card statement for about 10 days before going away.
I'm not sure I'll be back given these issues and the not so great handling of them. Which is a shame, because I actually would want to frequent the place if they didn't make it actively...
Read moreI have went out to Boston Pizza many times throughout my life either for lunch or for dinner. I have always thought that the food and the customer service was amazing. My family went out tonight for dinner and our experience wasn't good in fact it was terrible. Our waitress wasn't kind as they have been in the past, she was very rude and her service was unprofessional. When we were ordering our drinks we couldn't find the non-alcoholic section, so I asked her what the drink options were and she told us to read the menu. I have loved BP's baby bellinis before, so I asked for a virgin bellini and she told me that they couldn't make it and minutes later told my partner after he asked for a baby bellini that they could make it. When she came back she told us that it couldn't be made. Later, we ordered our main course and I ordered lasagna with a side of caesar salad and my partner ordered his meal. She served our meals and I was served a plate of caesar salad not a side like I asked her for. We asked if this was the side and she said no the lasagna doesn't come with a side, and we told her that she said there was a side. We asked to return the food and my partner said that he was going to get another waitress and she grabbed the manager, who didn't look impressed and asked us what was going on. We told her what happened and the waitress denied all that she said infront of her manager and as the manager was leaving with the waitress we could hear the manager talking rude when in the end it was not our faults. I won't be going out to eat there because of the poor customer service experience...
