A&W Canada — Restaurant in Whitehorse

Went through drive through asked for kids cheeseburger just cheese and 2 mall fries. I get all the way to porter creek and was all ready ticked that out dog nocked over one child's drink from McDonald's trying to get the food and ripped a hole right through lol. So I call and she tells me I only ordered 1 fries. I said well there is 3 kids and I ordered 2 fries and 1 burger. Then tells me I only paid for 1 fries and a plain cheeseburger for the child was 8.49. I said are u kidding me. Anyways she was the manager on at 930 am July 2, 2025 and was so rude I ended up saying well thank you for nothing and hung up before I was rude. Why don't these people listen when u order. Just venting. Sick of the lousy attitudes that these training...

I never review fast food places because why... but this experience was so bad that i really feel the need to share. I have enjoyed A & W for many years and if the original owners walked into this store and sampled the experience they would be disgusted. Stale buns, rotting lettuce and tomato on the burger... flat root beer and I guess frosting the glass wasn't an option the day I was there... The burger meat too was just... strange, very different from what it normally tasted like both in texture and taste. I tried to explain to the staff what my issues were but the all Filipino staff could not understand English very well, I meant to contact corporate or the owner to let them know but it's 10 months later so this review will...

Well it took until nearly my 65th year and a whole lot of burgers but I can honestly say I’ve just had the absolute WORST hamburger ever. The ‘mama size 56 burger’ from the Whitehorse A&W now holds that dubious “award”. I can deal with tasteless but COLD and tasteless— well that’s a whole other thing. Thing is I’ve eaten at this same restaurant before, last year, and it was ok. What a difference a year makes I guess. Just awful!

Update: To their credit the A&W corporate complaint process, the Whitehorse manager reached out - at least that’s something to be commended as they may take these kinds of complaints seriously. Move from...
