I went to McDonald’s last night and ordered a couple of things and proceeded to the window to pay.
There was a lady named ELENA at the window, she didn’t greet me at all, and was just holding the debit machine, I asked her if she could kindly add another junior chicken to the order and she blatantly and rudely refused by responding that “ why did you not order it at the display screen, there is a long lineup behind you and I won’t do it”. There were literally like 2 or maybe 3 cars behind me. (You can fact check this, I came around 10:30PM on 30th Aug 2024)
Being a customer of McDonald’s for more than 5 years now, never have I ever encountered this situation where they can’t modify my order, once I’m at the window.
So I refused to pay at the first window and proceeded to the second window hoping to come across a manager. And then I said the same thing, please add another junior chicken to the order.
I was refused again and she said I can’t modify your order and it’s gonna take too long ( it takes less than 30 seconds to assemble a junior chicken) and then I asked if this was some sort of a new policy just to make sure I was not in the wrong for asking to add another sandwich to my order.
My query was ignored and on insisting repeatedly, the lady (and there was a guy) said okay, I can make you your sandwich.
The crew that I encountered were all filipino people and they were speaking their native language in front of me. ❗️The lady at the second window, while she was preparing my sandwich said “what a stupid guy” in filipino language, but lucky me, my girlfriend is filipino and she was sitting in the passenger seat and she translated it for me.😉
Then I was asked to pay, and my total came to like 3.45$ and that didn’t make sense to me because I ordered a couple of things in addition to the junior chicken.

I asked the server where is my drink and the pies that I ordered, he said that I only have a junior chicken on my order.
It turns out in spite of this situation, the lady at the first window asked the crew to scratch my whole order, so it turns out all I paid was for my junior chicken.
Keep in mind, when I was first driving to the second window, I saw the server holding my fruit drink that I had ordered😂.
This just made me absolutely furious and pissed me right off.
I asked for a refund and I drove away.
The whole point they were pretending to make was that there was a lineup (which there was not) and it was gonna take too long to make it. It’s funny that this whole incident and going back and forth took about 5 minutes and they could have just made my sandwich (30 sec) and I would have been a happy human.
Stupidity on a whole different level!!
Respect to all the night-timers out there, I hope mentioning a name and the time of the incident makes it easier to rule out the rotten apples and help improve the customer service. 🙏 It’s a small town we live in after all, not too many options for...

This may possibly be the worse McDonald's franchise in Canada.
Two lanes at drive thru both had cars in them. One lane was down and we ended up reversing out with 3 other cars, 2 drove off and myself and one other car got into the other lane. As the outer lane continued to roll forward, the inner lane had cars repeatedly wait at order screen and then back out. Upon arriving at the order screen, I asked the csr if they were aware the other lane was down, she said no and I told her that cars were getting backed up and then reversing. She became immediately defensive and condescending with the attitude that it was none of my business. In addition to having a teenager talk to me incredibly rudely she refused to add a large water to my order! She said she couldn't as it was dollar drink days.
After all the thousands of dollars I've spent at McDonald's the least they could do is give me free water! When I got to the window I asked to speak to the manager on duty, if I remember correctly his name was Graeme. I told him what happened, he stared at me blankly, said nothing and I was flabbergasted! I told him after customers give constructive feedback it would be good to acknowledge the comments by saying something or with verbal nods- he said ya well it was my fault I was doing something with that lane. I said in the future a good idea would be to put a sign up even if it's temporary. I also communicated i was only mentioning what happened as they were missing out on business and that giving feedback wasn't an attack on them. He said well we're super busy right now and cars are backing up.
Poorly trained staff that need more coaching in customer service. Running a business is not just about giving a product it's also about customer service and being polite to those your serving/paying for a service.
There are better deserving businesses in Whitehorse that could use your business besides...
Read moreWent through the drive through this morning to order breakfast. The person who took our order kept cutting us off when we were trying to order (rushing us). When we got to the window to pay our order was wrong. We corrected it, paid and went to the next window to pick up. When we went there our iced coffee was ordered as a large but we were given a medium. We asked to have it corrected. They just dumped my old iced coffee into a large cup and topped it off with more coffee. Also I would like to note that the employees at the window where we got our food were rude and abrupt - handed our bag to us and just shut the window without saying anything. When we received the iced coffee the colour was darker and it tasted disgusting. So we had to go back and go into the restaurant. The employee in there just kept asking me if its regular like 1 cream and 1 sugar - I have been ordering iced coffees for a while and have never been asked that question. In fact I thought it was a liquid syrup that was used as sugar. I kept telling him that I don't know what he's asking and that I ordered a large iced coffee. He just kept repeating the same thing. When we got this second remade coffee it was still dark and tasted awful. It ended up in the garbage with only a sip being taken. This location sucks and so do the people that work there. No one was helpful and we lost money ordering and buying something that wasnt made right so many times. If you cant follow the screen and make the order that is on it then you shouldn't be working there. It should not take 3 times to make 1 item and even then it was not edible. Just incompetence all around and I'm not sure where the manager on shift was because it was a gong...
