The new place is coming together but still do not have a dining set, so we looked for another place to have dinner.
This place has agreat ratings and that made us decide to give it a go as it is only 9 minutes away from the new abode.
As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the lady manning the front counter. She was all smiles and was very happy to welcome us to an empty place. The restaurant looked like it was just recently renovated - fresh paint, shiny chair covers and table covering, all so “golden”.
We ordered the following:
The lady said it would take about 10 to 15 minutes as they were busy with delivery but the food actually started coming in less than 10 minutes. Wowza! Talk about swift and effecient service!
For the amazing food, big servings, very reasonable pricing and great service, 5* all around!

Read moreOur family ordered over $200 worth of Chinese food for our family Easter dinner and it was a disappointibg experience. The service seems to be driven by greed not respect. Unlike most Chinese restaurants in Winnipeg there is no discount for picking up or paying cash. When we got home we noticed there were no fortune cookies or packets of soya sauce included. A quick phone call determined that you have to ask for these things if you want them. They also offer free sweet and sour pork for orders over $50 but all we got was one extra order of fried rice. Guess we should have placed four separate orders to get four orders of sweet and sour pork? Almost every Chinese restaurant in Winnipeg provides streamed rice with food orders. Our order came with "free rice" written on the container as if this was some sort of special bonus. We ordered two orders of breaded shrimp but only got one. We were told both orders were in one container even though our other duplicate orders all came in two containers to avoid this confusion. The food is decent but not exceptional. You'll get much better food at some of the other Chinese restaurants on south Pembina. (Huang Pu River or North Garden are both excellent). This is the second time I've been disappointed with this restaurant. It's pretty obvious they don't appreciate our business. When we told them we'd consider ordering elsewhere next time, they said “okay”. That's a pretty clear indication that they don't care about having...

Went to this restaurant with someone who was actually from Shanghai. She thinks it's okay but I enjoyed it. One item was 3, one item was 4, and two were 5*. The owner fully admitted that the xiao long bao had an issue. Too much meat. That was our 3* however she let us know the other table had fine ones. Some of this conversation I didn't follow as they spoke in their own dialect, nor did I pay for this meal as my friend grabbed it, so I was unsure of the prices since I didn't have a bill.
The restaurant owner is very sweet. She's very friendly and talks to all the clients... as much as she can as there is or can be a bit of the language barrier at times. There's not much to the decor of this place either. But the tofu dish (order this if you like spicy, seems like you can adjust to your taste) and the fish dish was very delicious. We also got some wontons or something. They were good, in a soup of sesame oil and saltines (I'm guessing a chicken broth and maybe a bit of soy to add a little bit of complexity and color?)
This is located near the Panda tea if you like bubble tea. They share the same parking lot. It's quite busy so sometimes you will still need to park...
