New review is 5/5. Having tried many thai places in the city and consulted with peers, I’m certain that Magic Thailand is one of the best spots you can go for delicious, reasonably priced Thai food. If you haven’t tried it, you absolutely should. 10/10 spice may not be enough for some people; conversely, it’s enjoyable for most people.

Today I tried the Massaman curry and loved it! A couple weeks ago I tried the green curry and loved it! Service is incredibly quick and it takes less than five minutes from ordering to receiving your food (If you're ordering a single curry and rice). The taste is absolutely addicting, and afterwards I feel a bit ill. Not sure if that's because I've overstuffed myself or if the curry is a bit imbalanced. I do feel the curries should have more of an uplifting kick to them, which is what I was hoping the basil would do. Still, this is one of THE BEST Thai restaurants in the city. If you're on the fence, jump over and try these affordable, delicious dishes. Just make sure to order some rice with your curry! It doesn't come with it. Spice scale is 1-10. I really like spicy food and 7-8 makes me sweat and my nose leak without making the food...

After hearing good things about this restaurant through my coworkers, my boyfriend and I decided to come here for dinner. We ordered masaman curry, pad thai and the red curry with fish. Masaman curry was good and the pad thai wasn't the greatest. I've had better pad thai at different Thai restaurants and even Thai Express. The red curry fish on the other hand was terrible. The dish looked great but taste wise, it was not. After a few bites of the fish, we discovered that it was uncooked in the center. The waitress took our dish back but a few moments after walking into the kitchen, we heard the microwave go on and off, twice. Shortly after the second "ding", our dish came back "cooked", but the entire dish had an unpleasant overcooked fish taste and smell. It wash hard to continue eating anything, so we paid for our meal and left. Although its an assumption that the fish was re-cooked in the microwave, the timing, taste, the smell and being one of the only two groups in at the restaurant, it seems likely that's how it was "cooked".

I'm not sure if we may have just came late or it was an off day, but after our experience, we will not...

Great food. Nice that there is a spice level from 0 to 5 for food orders. Noticed last year, when you order take out, if you don't ask for rice, and pay an additional charge, they don't give any. This was disappointing as rice is the least expensive item to add to a meal. Despite this, food is awesome and will continue to eat in as you get rice with your meal and on occasion will order take out.

Update, odered #2 crispy noodles with chicken. Take out order can feed up to 3, lots of fresh crisp veggies, chicken, dry noodles which soften when mixed with dish. Sauce very tasty.

Another visit, placed order for take out as on cold days one loves hot soups. Magic Thailand has the best green curry coconut chicken soup in Winnipeg. A large order was enough for 3 servings, also order 1 order of rice with the soup. (Picture shows...

Me and my friend finally went to Magic Thailand for the first time the other week. Unfortunately, it turned out to be closed cause we forgot to check that there were select hours of the day where they are not opened. We came around 4:30pm on a weekday, checked the door and it was locked noticing that it's not open till 5pm. As we started walking away, the owner? unlocked the door and invited us inside. I was happy to see that the appearance inside was a lot nicer than outside as it doesn't look very appealing from the street lol!! I got the Red Curry, my friend got the Pad Thai - we've both had these dishes many times at different Thai places and were satisfied enough with Magic Thailand that I can definitely recommend it to others and consider it a worthwhile restaurant to go back to.
